I don't know how accurate my little sensor is. I assure you the humidity stays above 70% more than below, especially this time of year. We get up to 90% fairly often

You could compare your sensor against the official humidity reported for your location. 44% would almost certainly have to be indoor humidity I would believe.

Well, your local weather station went from a low of 61% RH to a high of 99% today, so I suspect your little gauge needs calibration. Low cost humidity sensors are pretty notorious for drift. Some of the old dial style ones used a strand of hair wrapped around the spindle of the gauge.

Finally some relief. It's 69* here now. Dewpoints have come down a good bit so there isn't much heat index the last 2 days.
It has been a brutal summer. Our local weather man said we have broken every heat record in the book this summer.
