Well we had the first plowable snowfall of the season only just last week here in southern VT. A wet and heavy sleet mix that's all iced up now as it dropped into low single digit temperatures overnight. A tragic tractor/suv collision resulting from those weather conditions I read about further north in the state happened too.

+14 degrees is the high so far today:D

Pretty much we eased thru the months of Nov. and Dec. so maybe only another 100 days or so to go...if there's an early spring!

I vote to skip right to spring.

We are headed to a month below normal temps here.
Our weather forecasters are right about 30% of the time so hopefully a mild winter like El Nino is supposed to give us.
Way to much flooding in this part of the country.

Stay warm.

Yep, I'm ready for spring already. Just bought a new motorcycle so bring on the warm weather. Been pretty lucky here in Eastern Kansas so far, quite mild. I'm a telephone man and work outside so I welcome the mild winters.

I have blown about 3 lots of 4" each time and now the temps are in the double digits below zero F. This morning we were looking at the thermometer at -26F. Winter is here!

DFB, is anyone arround you worried about their septic field freezing up yet?
It's never happened to me (Im a relative rookie) but I've heard some horror stories. Thinking of spreading some straw. Am I overly concerned?

Well, there has been snow here for over a month now. We just broke out of about ten days of really cold wx and it up around 25F to 35F. I have about 14" of snow but with these sunshiny, warm days its melting.

I got a new bike and am looking for another early spring also.

I personally have never heard of that happening around here ever before (not that it in theory couldn't) but some one here TBN I believe had issues like that. My camp in Maine never froze up and it was a very shallow in ground system. I have a mound design with pumps here in VT. and have been operating it more than 12 years now without any incident.

I did work with a fella that came into work one winter day complaining his sewer line froze up with ice and caused a blockage...we suggested he shower and do his laundry a little more often.

I was clearing snow with the last 8" storm, but quit as the ground was too soft - not frozen. By the next storm it should be harder and I will get to the barn. I use my tractor bucket.
