I took a few divots out of the sod with my loader bucket the first time plowing this year. 
If you back blade with the bucket, that will help.I was clearing snow with the last 8" storm, but quit as the ground was too soft - not frozen. By the next storm it should be harder and I will get to the barn. I use my tractor bucket.
Plow only once so far this winter,fingers cross that well be all for this season....got a feeling it won't be tho.
I am expecting one of these days that the 60% chance of snow will turn into 100% chance of 2' of snow instead of these little PITA 2-3" dribbling s we are getting.
I guess you are just going have to launch your boat and cut a hole in the bottom to go fishing.I used to go ice fishing in early December. I'll be lucky if we get walkable ice by mid January. Still open water today, January 7th.
