Sage advice for flatlanders. I don't have the luxury of avoiding slopes.

You could do what everybody else is doing to avoid the cold or slopes, move to Florida, lol!!

I didn't have a tilt meter, but I found myself box-blading at some pretty uncomfortable angles. I got the meter, and it seems where my brain was really telling me 'watch out!', I was between 15 and 20 degrees.

I guess the old brain-tilt-meter is calibrated properly.. :)

Just for posterity I snapped shots of my BX2350 on some of my typical slopes around the house.

The side slope shot is about 25% grade, and the shot of the tractor climbing the hill is about 43% grade.

This is a pretty steep grade, approaching 100% at times. A view from the top side and then working it from below.
I don't advise this kind of work for anybody except in a bulldozer maybe. It is NOT SAFE.
I'll probably get kicked off TBN for sharing these photos.

So what are you replacing the growth with to prevent erosion?

Paul,
My wife will plant some kind of fire resistant flowering plant that has a blue flower on it. I don't know the name of it, sorry. We will irrigate that part of the hillside and call it good so we don't have to get in there anymore.

It looks REAL DRY...:D
I take it you are going to use some form of trickle system...to cut down on evaporation loss...
