Background - Bought 2 50 gal transfer tanks years about 2013 for $100 total . Intent was to fill with diesel and keep at site in Mississippi. Got them filled in Mississippi, rarely use them.
So I'm wanting to "mount" 1 in the bed of my F350 and also perhaps a near future F250/Ram (yet to be purchased). Prime intended use is to ensure I've got enough fuel to make it from DC to Mississippi on one fillup (~810 miles at ~12 mpg, OEM tank 38 gallon). I've got a transfer pump.
I read on TBN about just mounting it on a pallet.
So - how do TBN'ers mount their diesel fuel transfer tanks?

For mounting in your truck, it must be bolted to bed of the truck/frame to be legal. They make mounting kits that have rubber bushings to help with vibration. I have a 100 gallon L tank mounted ot my 2014 RAM 3500. It's mounted in front of bed, bolted down with through bed bolts. Made 3/16" x 4.5" washers for under the bed.

My 108 gallon tank is only in the bed for fuel runs, so it's on a pallet and tied down with a commerical cargo net. When in my barn, the pallet and tank sit on a wheeled dollie so I can move it around as needed.
When I had a permanent mounted tank, it was bolted to the bed.
