I have a craftsman 18 HP 42" lawn tractor and it is cutting higher on the left side I have the height adjustment on 6 but it cuts the grass at 3". Can anyone help me?

If it's like all the other Craftsman mowers I have seen, the deck is supported by a linkage on each side. Each one is independently adjustable so you can level it and overall raise or lower it so you get a usable range of heights with the controls.

In addition to the above, make sure that the air pressure in the tires is correct. A low tire will give you an uneven cut.

Adjust the linkages to get side to side level (blades pointing east/west) , then blades pointing north/south adjust the cut , the leading edge of the blade should be no more than 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch lower than the trailing edge , set like that will give a nice clean cut :thumbsup:
