Currently 17 here near Tulsa, heading for a low around 15, a little colder tomorrow night, then warming back up on Wednesday.
Here are the current approx. totals from the latest model runs.Starting Tuesday, we are forcasted to have snow here in South Louisiana. I've seen some forcasts up to 15". Now, I know this may not seem much to some of you, but we just don't get that here, ever...
We have no snow removal equipment available anywhere close to the Gulf Coast. And our buildings are not designed to handle 15+ inches on the rooftops.
Our governor has declared a state of emergency for the entire state.
I feel that I will be well prepared, but there could be lots of power loss, and of course, accidents on the roads.
The highest snowfall ever recorded in our state was 24" here in my hometown in the southern part of the state back in 1895. I'm about 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. We do get snow here about once every 10 years or so, but never more than an inch or two.
It'll be strange for you guy, but just make sure you are ready with fuel and food along with maybe some type of insulation to stuff around any vulnerable plumbing. A propane torch is valuable for many things when it's below freezing, even if it's just to melt the ice out of a padlock.Starting Tuesday, we are forcasted to have snow here in South Louisiana. Red bottle is NOT for preventative use:Got a helluva winter blast coming here on Monday with the high just above zero (f).
Time to makes sure your buggy will start.
... and your tractors have at least Power Service white bottle diesel additive in the fuel... up here, I'll be using PS Red Bottle. and a light bulb in your buggy engine bay won't hurt either...
That is true. My generator runs on natural gas and can power my entire house and shop. But, I still hope I don't need it.One saving grace is, those of you who live on the gulf coast may not own plows but I'll bet most have generators.
