I am considering this grapple:
72" Economy Dual Cylinder Root Grapple - Buy Attachments 4 Less
I am considering this due to price point, and availability due to long lead times at EA. Is anyone familiar with this company, this product, or products like this. The person selling these in my area claims they are made in NC. I am putting this on my 45hp New Holland. I plan to use it for smallish logs cut to short lengths and brush, possibly some mid size stones. I would call my work load someone light.

Nothing at all wrong with that grapple. I bought one similar direct from the factory distributor here in NC. It was at a lower cost since I picked it up. The biggest difference is they use soft steel that can bend. I bought a lighter weight unit and have had to straighten the front grapple tooth several times. The reinforcement steel does not come down to the front tip of the tooth. They will also not have a grease-able bushing. If I was going to use it a lot that would be a bigger deal.

Exactly Turby. The grapple I bought has hardened steel and each tooth has welded side members running the full length of each tooth on both sides. The bushing are grease-able.

Otherwise - that's a fine looking implement. Just remember - your New Holland & grapple are NOT a bulldozer. It's meant to PLUCK & GATHER - not push and crunch.

Exactly. Use it as its intended and you wont have any problems.

Sounds like it will work great for what you want it for. I too chose a different manufacturer because of price and wait time. This one I ordered from a manufacturer in North Carolina as well (carolina attachments) and it's worked great, looks like a similar design. I only sent with a 48 inch due to tractor size 20181010_210254.jpeg

I went to my Kubota dealer to buy a LP grapple. The owner steered me to what he uses as we won't be using them a lot. No name on it and he doesn't even sell them, but agreed to get one for me, I found they are made by Loflin and sell only to dealers; don't know why. I liked it so well I got one for our L5740 and M8540. We have a good shop with good welders etc. if repairs or reinforcement is needed.

I usually recommend top of the line stuff, but in this case I'm using pretty much the same as in your picture.

Actually, width should only be a minor concern. I chose 60" because the 72" added another 100#. And at 820# for the 60" - I didn't need more weight.

Oh, and why did I choose such a heavy grapple. Well, for strength, longevity, ease of use. But I did not need a grapple to stack anything at heights.

When I'm lifting a heavy rock or chunk of pine trunk - I'm "knuckle dragging". This allows me to lift loads up to 3200#.

If it's of concern to you - look at the weight lift charts - not the spec tables.

Generally - the spec tables will rate lift capacity at - - 24" forward of the pivot pins and 30" off the ground.

With my HD Land Pride grapple - the center of most any log I lift is 12" to 16" forward of the pivot pins and I NEVER lift more than 6" off the ground.

This makes a TREMENDOUS difference in the lift capacity.

Know what you are going to do and choose accordingly. In other words - - "Choose wisely, grasshopper"

That resembles the MTL grapples. You might find a smaller grapple to be easier to maneuver and more useful. I bought a 60" dual lid and I should have bought a 48" single. Mine is okay because it doesn't exceed the width of my tractor but the one you are looking at will stick out on your TC45 a bit.

Take a look at some of these offerings made in GA.

I have a 45HP Kioti with a 60" grapple and have never considered that I needed a larger one. It will pick up everything you ever ask it to within your lifting capacity. I am also 100% sold on the dual lid grapple because it allows you to pick up 2 different size logs or rocks at the same time. Mine was made by Michigan Iron & Equipment, a bit on the spendy side, but the quality is top notch. It is pretty much bullet proof. The link you posted looks like a fine grapple.

I’ve been wondering if a narrower one would be better for the sake reasons, I’ll be in the woods so fit can be an issue. The tractor is about 60” wide. Is there any advantage to wider? Seems like could be an advantage to lighter...
