I've used mine more than that in less than a year, including for things I never expected to do like burying two cows for a neighbor.

I buried a couple cows for friends with mine, the first one I blew a cylinder and a hose and charged him $90. I lost money on that dead cow.

If I had the extra income to afford a backhoe, then I would most likely get one. I may only use it once or never a year but I think if I had one I would be making jobs up to use it cause they are fun. I would also get one with a hydraulic thumb because I would definitely find a lot of use for that. For now though, I will borrow one or rent one as needed.

Because a lot of people buy a backhoe to just have it, feels and looks cool and frankly is cool. But when you figure its almost a 10k add on most people never really use them. They buy them because they needed to dig one 200ft ditch, and then there it sits. I just rented a 30 ton Ex to dig out my foundation full of rock was only 1200 bucks a day, that ex would have dug that ditch in 30mins. Its all relative. Farm and other like things a back hoe is needed for sure, other not so much. But this america get what you want

I bought a backhoe for my little tractor. I have probably used it 5 times out of necessity. Another 5 times that I invented the need. I really like having it.

I had to waste that money on something. Wife wouldn't have the new boobs I picked out for her.........

I woulda got A LOT of use out of those.
Lol.....Post of the day right there!!!

I wouldn't call it "flaming", to inform newbs around here that adding a backhoe to their new compact tractor purchase is probably a huge waste of their money. In fact, it's downright responsible of us, haha.

Now, if you have a dedicated backhoe machine for your large property, thats a whole different ballgame.

If someone wants a backhoe who cares, they are useful big and small and make a good addition for resale.. I’m not sure why anyone cares what others purchase..

I made that first point there a few times. OP doesn't want to be bothered with 'globally sourced junk' even if that's all that's available and all most people need.

Thanks for badmouthing me in another thread.

Anyways, I bought a Ford 575D in 2004 and it is my most used piece of equipment, so I too am confused about ppl getting kicked in the nuts for buying a backhoe.
