Hello, i have a stihl ts800. this is the piston out of it. is it still usable?

I've had worse that worked rings look ok you have nothing to loose by trying.

I'd take a tree radius in a die grinder and feather that big gouge in the crown so it won't be a hot spot, and smooth out the dings on top and along the sides with a scotchbrite roloc disc. What kind of shape is the cylinder in? Probably has one pretty good groove in it from the looks of things.

If it was me, I would fit a new piston & rings. That piston is likely to fail also crankcase vacuum would be reduced considerably and that will affect engine performance
If it's worth doing, do it properly.

Yes i think your right. im rebuilding it for a friend and i want to put new piston & rings but he dont think it will make that much of a difference. so im just going to order them and he can deal with it. lol. THANKS!!! :drink:
