Help Ford 1310 steering box

Hi There. My first post.
I took the steering box apart on my Ford 1310. The end of the sector shaft that holds the adjustment bolt is broken. I have been searching for a new sector shaft or steering box everywhere and can't find one. Does anyone know if another shaft from a similar model will work or is there a replacement steering box that will work? The Kubota and Yanmar steering boxes look similar. Or would a machine shop be able to fix or make a new sector shaft? Thanks for any advice on how to fix this.

Dis you have any luck? other wise i have a 1220 and have had to fix my steering box when i got it and i broke it once you can do it in like hour half im not sure on exactly whatyou getting at that broke but i got the guts for the box work gear and that little block in there from weavers tractor dont know if these machines run same steering box but

o I see what broke, How did u break that lol. weavers has one if you didnt already find one but there are some veriences so i dont know excat one you have.

Thanks 1220 Ford. I'm not sure how or when it broke. The two ends on the sector shaft that hold the adjustment bolt broke off and the adjustment bolt broke and the non serviceable bushing in the end cover got destroyed.
I guess it's a poor design and a common problem with this model. I have been calling parts stores and salvage yards across the country and nobody can find the sector shaft. The one place that I was told could get it said that they sold the last one they had in 2012.
I did find a used steering box but for more than half the price of the used one I can get an aftermarket steering box for a different model tractor that I think I can fabricate to work. I hope lol.
Who knows if the expensive used steering box isn't already worn or will fail again.

This is what I was thinking about trying to make work. In the reviews others have used on different model tractors.

The link I posted for the after market steering box is a perfect fit for the steering box for my Ford 1310. It bolted right in. The pitman arm from the tractor fit on the spline. I didn't use the one that came with it. I only needed to grind off the two brackets on the old steering shaft and weld them onto the new one. The eBay steering shaft is just a little bit shorter but works perfectly.

Are you still happy with this steering box? I snapped something in my 1310 steering tonight. I haven’t opened it up yet but I was thinking about ordering one from your previous link.
