Harbor Freight 3-point quick hitch

Just looked at the pictures, and feel dumb for asking. You got it going on. Like to see some pics when you attach the hoe. This is how new products evolve. Very impressed.

Well ya shouldn't feel dumb, lots of people never heard of a skid steer running a 6 foot Bush Hog 286 in the front. Most of the attachments made for skid steers are very expensive and someone came out with an adapter that would allow us to use 3 point attachments on our units and some have a hydraulic motor that will give us 540 PTO shaft like the real tractors. see link for motorized version

I can make a backing plate and buy a hydraulic motor and a few odds and ends and have less than 1K in this and with a quick attachment on it. Think about having a rotary cutter on the front where ya can see where your going or cut under some bushes or shrubs or a PHD on the front or a sno-blower that I can't use here in Fl. LOL

I ordered mine on May 17th and received it today. Had the same problem as others with the slot not wide enough for the Cat 1 lift arms. Used 3/4 inch threaded rod with two nuts and washer to spread the opening. Had a little trouble with pin alignment but after I tapered the end of the pin I was able to hammer the pin in with a block of wood.

If nobody complains the supplier may never get it right. The item should be supplied as advertised or discounted as defective.

I want to devise a storage solution for my 3pt implements and I want to store them off the ground out of the weather. I want to stack the light ones possibly - I will use the loader to lift them onto the storage rack. Just playing really. Want to weld a crazy cool new tool up. Don't pay any attention to me - crazy ideas sometimes.

How much more discount do you want?? $199 for TSC or Deere model. This is the HF way - so cheap you do not complain much.

I would like to know the measurements on the lower lift arms of H/F 3 point Q-H inside and out side this is the most important issue for me the Deere unit is 27 1/2 inside and 29 1/2 out side which will work for me so if H/F is very close than I am good to go so far there seems verious measurements.

Not to get off the subject, but been looking for a 540 hyd. motor to use as a pto substitute. What are you using or sources?

It's not the money. Its just that a discount for cause named or sending it back for exchange to a correctly dimensioned item are the only 2 sources of leverage I can think of to push in the direction of design being compatible to the advertised use. This item, made in China, is being supplied to HF with the claim that it fits Cat 1 tractors. HF is passing it on to the consumer as such. They wont know about the problems unless they are told, and will probably be less likely to act to correct the problem unless it costs them money not to. I think that the consumer should know what he is getting for the cost. In this case: " A good value -- Priced low because most of these are slightly misdimensioned and will need modification in order to fit Cat1. Sold AS IS."
They wouldnt sell many.

I received mine yesterday. Got home late and it'll be a long week. I hope to check it out this weekend and report back.

OK

Checked mine out last night.

Cat1 spacing is correct. Did not measure the ball slot spacing. Did not get that far - mine will not use the Quick hitch Bushings that TSC, FF, and Deere sell. The darn pickup arm hooks are not even sized the same on each side. VEry very poorly constructed. Almost felt like this was a prop for a movie or something and not an actual tool. Paint/finish is good though. This means it will definetly not work with my setup. I think mine goes back as well.

BTW without the QH bushings and just using cat1 pins this would work great I suspect.

How hard is it to return the Q/H to Harbor Freight? I ordered one and from all indications I wasted my time .

I wonder if we're all going to end up returning them??? HF is likely to go broke giving away free gloves and having to refund the purchase price of a defective product!

I'll keep my fingers crossed. It sounds like there's at least a chance that the QH will work for me.

I don't think you'll know until you receive and test fit it. Honestly, I didn't get the impression it was a total P.O.S., ie., sloppy welds, levers didn't operate, etc. The darn thing just didn't fit is all. Had it fit over the lift arm balls, I'd have been a happy camper for the price.

In case someone still doesn't understand the problem, I've taken a few pics. The Cat 1 lift arm ball width is 1-3/8"...

Still waiting on mine. 10 more days and it will be a whole month since the "shipped" it. Or since they charged my credit acct.

Just thinking outloud, I'd think all the force would be centered in the thickness of the link arm. And, if I understand the principle, the ball will not be floating once hooked up ...
