Grill guards

Just ordered one from homestead. I was moving brush for a neighbor with the grapple on my BX and quickly realized the openings in the grapple could easily allow a branch to get my radiator thus the order as I don’t weld a skill I never learned

Do you guys have protection from underneath? I put two layers on the front, bottom section and I did not cover my head lights (if I can't see brush that high, I don't need to be where I'm at).

I just finished a project where the grill guard came into play. I disassembled - gathered - moved the last old homestead building.

I can certainly see why HD industrial equipment would have been better. But you use what you have.

The grill guard got thumped/bumped several times with the old lumber.

Now I have to clear this area of all the remaining nails/spikes. There was not a nail/spike that the old homesteader didn't like. With my metal detector I've gathered up two gallon buckets full.

I can guarantee - I've not found them all yet.

My expanded metal wraps up underneath - old and tired. But then - I don't go crashing thru the undergrowth like Gordon Gould - #6.

My property is open fields of grass and stands of ancient Ponderosa pines.

What "under growth" I have - Buck brush. Diameter of a pencil and two feet high. Driving thru this brush just tickles the underside of the tractor.

JD 2520 grill guard upgrade. A little 3/8" rod and 1/8×1" strip stock. A few close calls on the grill drove the change.
