- haven't one but would like to own one
I found this forum from searching out information on welding machines. Although I don't own a tractor and never welded before, I would like to have a tractor and just bought my first welding machine (an old stick weld, Sears, Roebuck, and Co. Craftsman) and look forward to getting started with it.
Only have 2.7 acres of backyard so a tractor is on the list of things I should buy (pickup truck and a trailer are of higher priority though).
Look forward to reading all the valuable feedback on this site from the knowledgeable and experienced members here. I was a city slicker but the lifestyle really blows in my humble opinion. Overcrowded roads, stores, every one in a hurry, hurry, hurry mood with angry attitudes does not make my life comfortable nor does the higher taxes on everything.
While at first I had planned on buying undeveloped acreage and start my own greenhouse and put a mobile home on it and some solar/wind generators, I talked myself out of that because it would be too extreme for one man to handle all the responsibilities that would fall on me. Instead I purchased developed land (no ability for wind generator here though, too many tall trees and not much wind. solar also is out due to the trees as well unfortunately. I'd like to get all the trees off my land but the cost would be substantial and I am far from financial stability) and am glad I did. This area is quite fitting for me, the nearest city is 30 miles away which is far but not difficult far should I ever need something and crimes are rare or at least rarely reported to police, lol.
Enough about me, time to read about others!
Cheers,
Glenn
