All you need to drag logs is a boom pole and old fashioned log tongs. Hook the tongs as close to the tractor as possible on the boom. Hook the small end of the log and lift it a few inches off the ground and off you go.

Where do yo get old fashioned log tongs?

Would a grapple or thumb bolted onto bucket work for moving logs around??
I'm sure it would not work as well as a dedicated grapple. Part of my interest is that I was thinking that once the log is in the jaws, you could easily position it at the best height for an accomplice to cut firewood. I suppose a bucket with toothbar would hold log better with either thumb or grapple.

I have a B3030 Kubota (30hp) with a 4-in-1 bucket. I find the lift capacity to be fantastic. Absolutely no problem with a 10', 15" log.

I run Stihls and have bought many a chain, bars, air filters, motor rebuild kits, etc for my saws from Bailey's.

Stihl does not authorize anyone to sell their equipment via the internet...just a choice they have made. But, Baileys carries plenty of equipment for use with Stihl equipment.
