that wouldn't work here because a few of the people would be driving 60 mph down it , if it were that smooth!
Amazon drivers tried that, once they realized my DRIVEWAY didn't go out back to the houses they were trying to deliver to on the side ROAD, they would spin around my loop, literally throwing gravel on my lawn, and speed back up to the paved road, to go 40' to the 10' wide private road, with a HUGE sign completely over the top of it, indicating what it was, in addition to the county placed standard green sign at the corner!
The gate stops them!
Sometimes they are stupid enough to put packages in my box, for the neighbors (I don't do business with amazon, so I know they are not for me!)
I have my street number from the 911 green reflective signs on the end of my driveway on one side, 4" reflective numbers on my both sides and the end facing the road of my giant sized mailbox ... I also have the top of the package box numbered, and 9" tall numbers like the "No Trespassing" sign above on the other gate, and with the street NAME on it ... That didn't seem to deter the idiots from dropping packages in my box ... My driveway has plenty of lighting, including a "steet light" that I pay for about 25' in from the road.
So I made another couple of signs, directly above and behind the package box which basically says "You're at my street name and number" the 2nd signs says "This is NOT neighbors road name"!
Neighbors out back all have 3 digit house numbers, I have 4 digits ... That's has slowed down most all of mis-delivered packages, they still get up to the gate, read all the signs and then go away!
I don't need much of a crown on my driveway as it's quite flat, and it's easy enough in one pass to really pick it up if I want to ... I have VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC on my driveway NOW ... Really only me when I come home, sometimes it's in my pickup, sometimes with the Kenworth ... But usually less than five round trips per month ...
I was just trying out my new pole saw!
