38 outside right now, may get to 60 today.

Not much going on, attack of the mad mocking bird and ladybugs yesterday. There was a coordinated move on two sides of the farm house. The bird must have Od on dogwood berries as it kept trying to get in the kitchen window. It got so bad the wife hung a towel over the window to discourage the behavior. I hear it singing now as I am typing, but at least it is not on the window. The lady bugs are coming in everywhere from the south east side of the house. The vacuum cleaner is getting a workout.

The wife took me for a RTV ride to rescue the game cameras we had set out last week. The ride was rough on me. We let a good deal of property go back to mother nature a while back up along the creek. I still manage to cut some trails through it for access. I had noted early last week when I did the burn pile a nice natural trail has developed. Small animal and deer I thought. Close inspection revealed it was Mr. Beaver. So the game cams got put out.

We captured some nice videos of Otter, Beaver, Possum, Racoon, Squirrel, too many deer and a really nice buck.

Interesting, only the Buck was in all pics and vids during the day and night time.

The otter had two other friends that played through the trail at fast speed.

And the nice Buck.

I'd like to catch the otters and beaver during the daylight. The beaver has lots of food now in that area. We hope he or she will not take out any more big trees, if that starts up again, the traps will have to be set. One thing is certain, he or she has provided a lot of water for other critters since it has been so dry here.

Hope all have a great day. And, thanks to all for the well wishes. Be safe.

These were the tables in water last week. They were reserved for a Birthday party yesterday.

Good morning! 45˚F heading to 75˚
Yesterday was the best weather day of the Fall festival. 67˚ no wind, no dust, not too hot or cold, no mud. Rain was forecasted which kept people from coming out early but the crowds returned in the afternoon.

A nippy 26 this morning, the sun starting to peek through and burning the frost off the truck. Lots of wind and a bit of rain during the past week has many of the leaves off and blowing around. Need to get the blower going and clean off the deck and out of the inside corners around the house.
Strange at all the daylight at this time but it's going to be terrible tonight when it gets dark so early.

All stay safe and well

yup, nice it's light out now and not even 7am;
but since it's 35 out now, definitely waiting for sun to warm up the world
My jet heater is running under my trailer in the driveway now, as I try to thaw some frost off it to start paint prep for today.

you have 35 degree cold soak on that steel, have fun.
many a squiggly paint job for me when I painted on surfaces too cold.
Then I got an IR temp gun and stop doing that.

I'm figuring around 2pm today in full sun will be perfect for you.
but I doubt you will wait that long... ;)

somewhat perplexing that my prior post was held for moderator approval.

I'm sure it will get approved.

Rip, great pics and hope you heal quickly.

The dog didn't get the "fall back" message, and rousted us all at the normal hour. There are worse fates.

@riptides that section of your property sounds very entertaining. I can watch otters pretty much all day, river or marine.

@daugen I've seen some higher performance electric boats coming in from overseas, but personally, I have some concerns about the battery quality, and I'm pretty sure that I don't want to be too far from shore if a lithium battery short circuits. Perhaps the accept language might be "laser blaster thermometer", but I think I'd take the rain delay for using your original language. I know that getting one helped my paint jobs and preheating / cooling for welding.

Off to a Día de Los Muertos celebration for a friend who passed recently. She had some wonderful friends.

All the best,

Peter

Good Morning
31° to start the day, bright sun and a high in the upper 50’s.

It’s interesting the radiant heat in the old folks home hasn’t run with the exception of the bathroom which has the thermostat set at 72, the others are at 70. The warm tile floor feels great on bare feet in the morning.
But the rest of the rooms are kept up to temp just by passive solar gain through the windows. I have had fires in an open fireplace, but I would think that the draft up the chimney would take enough heat out of the room to cancel a net gain.
There is outside air piped into the fireplace, and an ERV to exchange air as well. But regardless of the reason, the radiant heat hasn’t had a call since I turned the heat pump off for the winter. Being all sprayed urethane insulation with R49 in the ceilings can’t hurt either.

Had a nice dinner with oldest son and family last night at a local restaurant, we had pulled pork sandwiches for lunch. Definitely one of the better batches I’ve made. I’ve started adding back some of the renderings into the meat after I shred it, it really adds a lot.

Oldest son had an issue with a new Simpson pressure washer, had no compression. I looked at it, the exhaust valve was stuck. I freed it up, then discovered the pushrod was bent. I tinkered with that in the lathe until it indicated true. Put it all back together and there is something wrong with the cam, probably a compression release, but as it was a new machine, I stopped short of taking it further apart, put it all back together and told him to take it back to the store. Sent him home with mine to do the job.

Got the smoker all cleaned up and covered up again, not sure what I’ll do today, have a 70th birthday party to go to at the Black Bass Hotel a nice restaurant on the Delaware River this evening. The birthday girl has had a tough few years with a stroke and a broken femur from a fall, but she has rebounded nicely.

morning all, 34 going up to 62 and sunny.
Got the side door on the little wonder fixed and took it for a long walk.
Still need to move leaves on some of the lawn areas but a little too windy.
Need to put in 2 T-posts for the corn area and break up that soil, and maybe clean out the mini garden.

My Uncle still has his Packard convertible, not sure if he got it running again before he got too sick to use it.

Took dog for a walk at Peddlars village, the kids really go crazy over her.

Went to Wrightstown farmers market in the morning, got some good deals on veggies, meat was too $$$ for us. Got some baked goods. Nice little setup, we will go back. Has a mushroom guy , bought some really good oyster mushrooms.

Paul - we used to get my FIL/MIL gift certificates to Black Bass many , many years ago. They loved that place. Have fun there.

Be well,

At the farmers market yesterday, first time close up to one of these.

Good morning TBN 438 this morning but going to be a sunny mid 60s kinda day.

Great time yesterday for all.
Had our bridge help appreciation and shootout.
Fun for all with prizes and finished it off with some nice thick NY strips.
Did some four wheeling and one friend left his here as he lost a wheel on his dual axle trailer when he was coming out. He went to look for it on his way out. He didn't find it. He's a cop so he called in to dispatch to let him know if it hit something some where. First trip since he had new wheel bearings installed all around. He' be having a "conversation" with the guy that did the work.
Fell in to bed much later then usual and used my "extra" hour to sleep. Wish they would just settle on one time or another.

May have a 3rd cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

I had done an AI search for wiring a kill switch for my buggy. Said it was impossible to help as it would result in fatalities. Did it again with GY6 buggy and then it gave it to me LOL

good morning, 53 going to 61 sunny, warmer nice

Wife slept better. Her arm is still hot but itching now so the Vac side effects seems to over mostly

Writing out bills and a trip to the PO is on the agenda

Lost dog poster was in our mail box. Have not seen it around here

The sander shredded a belt again. It is going in the trash

successful morning
Popgadget and I conferred on the garage door wiring and agreed just take the
door opener off the gfci circuit and run it separately, which he did. So no more issues with gfi
tripping power to opener. Yeah. 3 trips through that window was enough.
We also analyzed my rv solar panel connection and determined the right adapter I needed.
All done in fifteen minutes, Paul is a whiz.
sent him home with apples and pears and now I need to go plant some mums
nice day out

Kinze is a well known name in commercial farm equipment and the guy who owns it is selling off 125 tractors from his
collection in Iowa. They are only the duplicates...the originals he keeps. I find the values on some of these pretty interesting.
lot of value in old iron

I wish it was in Lancaster or somewhere closer, would be fun to go kick some tires.
