I changed from Supplemental to Advantage. Monthly charge is now $.00.
I'm on a supplemental and would never switch to an Advantage plan. I have had several issues from prostate cancer (twice) knee replacement, heart work, gall blander.
My sister in law is on an Advantage Plan and they sure have taken advantage of her. She got diagnosed this spring with leukemia. The crap she went through having to get referrals and stay in network with many bullcrap requirements before they would start her chemo, then the numerous co-pays and prescription co-pays. Her out of pocket is at least 7 years of my premiums for Medicare, my supplement, and prescription plan.

Double victory on chainsaw repair. Figured a way to install this twistlock without it falling out like the original one did, when I didn't notice...expensive little bugger...$17.

Then reseated the chainsaw handle...it had popped out when I backed over the edge of it with the tractor...thank goodness for soft ground that day. I had broken my rule about how I place the chainsaw when needing to move the tractor. Was nearly an expensive lesson.

It was tricky doing both of these tasks.

I've been able to use it but it has been clumsy. Now good as new.

There are many different plans. Even for supplemental. All my plans have been PPO. Most of them allow you to use out of network Dr’s and Hospitals. Also no referrals needed. Only restriction is Dr’s, Hospitals and others must accept Medicare.
The hardest part finding a Medicare plan is getting good information. I found a local agent that represents 25 different plans in Michigan. Both Supplemental and Advantage. All these agents make commissions for selling the plans. Some try to sell people the one that pay them (agent) the most money.

I use Via Benefits to navigate the various health plans. It also manages the former employer contributions
Not sure but think anyone can access their information

Via Benefits is a service that helps individuals, particularly retirees, navigate and enroll in health insurance plans, especially Medicare-related options. It is not an insurance company, but a marketplace that provides a wide selection of plans from various national and local carriers. Key benefits include personalized assistance from licensed advisors, online tools, and support for understanding and choosing between different coverage options.

Good (Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 3C and it's presently 17.3C [heading to 19C], mostly clear and calm.

It's 'into town' day, first for a Veteran's Coffee gathering and then for groceries.

I received a call from the bloke who volunteers to mow/maintain the grounds of the Church to say that the ride-on mower's steering is buggered. I've no idea the make or model of the Lawn Tractor, so I'll check it out whilst I'm in town. Mind you, I don't know when the last time the oil/filters were changed, any lubrication was performed, etc... that's going to need 'seeing to'.

That's about it, take care all.

"Property committee" at most churches is a lifetime sentence, so I hope you enjoy it! Death is usually the only way out.

Well, came home tonight and tried to start the tractor, hoping the tractor elves had fixed it while I was at work. Nope, turn the key, nothing, same as last night. Rain was imminent, so grabbed my meter and checked power to starter. 12.3 volts.

Decided to try the screwdriver jumping across solenoid again. Same as last night, no crank. Gotta more aggressive, arched a little harder and cranked. Jumped in and turned the key and fired right up!

Ran down and hooked up to the disc and got the garden busted up just as the rain started. Parked the tractor, shut it off. Waited a couple minutes, and it fired up as normal.

So this weekend I'll pull everything off the starter, clean, apply dielectric grease and reassemble. It looked ok last night, but best to be sure. I despise something that won't start when needed.

Coffee has been poured. 39° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 56° with a few clouds. Got up on pole barn roof and cleaned an area that need sealing. Did not get it sealed. Winds were to gusty to be up that high. Maybe later today. Got pole saw out and finished trimming trees in front yard. Not sure I will get at barn roof sealing today. Forgot to take down carpenter bee traps. Will get at that today. Still lots of trees to trim on west side of back field.
No Camels on my place to take pictures for Hump Day.

good morning all
looks like a nice day to work outside, with (finally) rain coming in tonight and tomorrow.
Which means today I clean out the veggie gardens and basically neaten up the outside before the rain
brings half the leaves down. Seems to be peak leaf time, very pretty to drive the back roads here.

because I don't think rv will sell this year, decided to renew my wifi membership in Calyx, which for a flat fee of 500
bucks gives annual high speed internet based on TMobile. I have found that hockey puck super helpful in areas Verizon doesn't work.
This next trip down by edge of Chesapeake will be a good example, campsite reviews complain of poor wifi.

had a long meeting with primary doc late yesterday. He agreed with me to ignore the doc who wants yet another CT scan taken and
referred me to a pain doc for a lower back epidural.
my lab work came back fine, sugar fine, AIC stayed at 6.1 which is a little high but not terrible, cholesterol all in the middle of range.

fun to have one doc constantly telling me to lose weight and get more exercise, where another doc said I'll never lose weight on
medically prescribed steroids. Of course all my docs are skinny as a rail. I'm thinking of possibly getting a small treadmill for the home.
Probably a used one around someone is giving away.

My goodness. One of you yanks left the back door open or something. It's COLD down here! ⛄ We're not ready for this yet.

Wow, that's brutal for you folks, do you think they will close all the schools? That's not fair to make children stand at the buss stop in that weather!

Good morning, the low is 40 and going to a high of 50°F. Wind NE 6 mph. Sunny!

Today is a run to the vampire, bank, Sundridge to get a parcel, dope store and local variety store to renew my lottery ticket. Then home and top off the furnace oil tank.

Time for breakfast.

Have a safe day all
