Wife complaining about our new cell phone service just doesn't work in the house, might have to go to something different. It seemed to work ok at first, so maybe they turned off a tower? it's like the wifi calling is not working at all. Sometimes messaging come immediate, sometimes it takes hours. Hard to do 2FA when the txt doesn't arrive.
I solved this problem by having my provider install a signal booster antenna. Yes, it was costly but I was tired of having to either go to a specific 'spot' in the house or go outside to make/receive calls with my mobile.

I have one, but it broke. They wouldn’t repair it, but offered to sell me a new one.

Off the remote power outlet for the block heater on the Kioti I have a string of LED Christmas lights. When the block heater is turned on the Christmas lights are lit too. They stretch from the inside of the tractor shed out to the shed for the oil tank and across to the Dodge garage.
I can turn either block heater on from the comfort of the house.
Back in the 1950s and '60s in winter my Dad used to plug the block heater in his car in when he got home from work and un plug it in the morning when he left again. Electricity was dirt cheap then. Not so much now. That is part of the reason for the lights as an indicator that the block heater is turned on and I don't have to go out in the cold to turn it on.

Good Evening Thomas,
Something about cutting hay/grass in autumn on sunny day
Yes there is , nice breeze from the north, sunny skies, perfect temps add up to a pleasant mowing experience with some of the best scenery on earth IMHO 😉😃

Good evening all. 64ºF for the start, overcast, showers in area but dry all day here, light breeze. Light wind, sky cleared to partly cloudy with some afternoon buildup, and high temp was 85ºF. All 10 days still above average temp wise and no rain in forecast. Made coffee to start day, Grief Share, office work, bike ride during which I stopped at credit union, and helped a friend put his boat back on trailer. Turned out trailer had come off ramp and not level complicating loading it on trailer. Was going to mow front but took a nap and didn't wake up in time, and looking at front may not need mowing.
Bill video worked fine. Not sure how to track that down on a diesel engine, likely is fuel related. Have you checked for air locks is fuel system.

Been waking earlier and earlier these days, a sign of work stress or just getting old? Anyway, never thought I'd say "I wish I could just sleep in until 5am," back when I was a teen who could sleep until 10am when left to it. :ROFLMAO:

Several hours of desk work today, and then some time in the lab assembling some parts, but hoping to also get outside and get some painting work done on my trailer if the weather is nice.

Coffee is done brewing. 54° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 72° with mix of sun and clouds. Did some yard cleanup and weeded flower gardens for the last time this year. Today will cut back field. Then get flail mower out and ready to cut side field in the next few days.
Mr long tail soaking up some sun.

Out for breakfast with the wife's side today. Should be fun!
Raked the yard three times already and still get to enjoy this foliage.

good morning, 55 going to 72 chilly

Cody had his yearly check up and vaccination updates. Reviewed the 3 seizure episodes since the last check up. On each episode he flopped around and then flat on the floor for 20 mins or so until he recovered. The Vet will prescribe anti seizure meds if it becomes more frequent.
One of our kids had those episodes also during childhood

Picked up groceries with wife taking advantage of sales items and freezing some

GD got a work study job at the writing center at the university. Good move since she can do home work when not busy at the center

The parts came in for the van including filters and other maintenance items

Mowed the upper area near the road and circled one of the tree planting areas. May do some more mowing today but the mowing season is about over.
Was trying to ID some of the Oak trees. it is amazing how many there are and not that easy to identify

It'd be interesting to see if Michigan upholds or blows up a personal theory of mine.

I was in Spain recently, and noticed how everything happens late there. Peak lunch rush is 3pm, and no one eats dinner before 9pm, restaurants are most crowded around 10pm.

But sunset in summer is after 10pm and "high noon" happens at 2pm, because they are so ridiculously far west to be using their European Central Time zone. Sunrise isn't until something like 7:30am, when they push their clocks back an hour for summer. They should really be on the same time zone with England, not Poland!

So my theory is that the late sunrise and sunset times have caused them to adapt their whole day to occur later, when measured against the clock. But does the same happen in Michigan?

good morning all
coffee perking, mentally trying to hurry it up...

much cooler weather has come in, high in lower 70's today.

our government is shut down for first time in 6 years. Glad I don't have reservations at national parks, one
in NC is State so not affected.

The siesta and late dinner routine of the Spanish would not work for me at all. I'm asleep usually by 9pm.
you aren't supposed to eat heavily within several hours of bedtime so clearly those are late night folks.

hope you all have a nice day

I think we all adapt to our surroundings, to some degree, so you'd probably eventually fall into it. Oh, and remember that by the sun, their 10pm is our 8pm... that's how much later their sunrise and sunset is, by comparison to Philadelphia/NY time.

Since leaving corporate life and becoming self-employed, my sleep has gone mostly bi-phasic, which apparently is how humans lived for most of history until the industrial revolution. I only get 4-5 hours of sleep at night, but can often add another hour to in the early evening or even midday. Back when my working schedule forced it, I had to get all of my sleep in a single shot at night, no chance for a hour's refresh during the day.

FWT, sounds like a wonderful trip...thanks for sharing the rice farming info and photo.

Engineer, that is a great section of trail and fun town to explore.

Tried to fix a plumbing problem yesterday and failed. I think it is time for the pros.

Good Morning,
Vt, 42 to start going to 59. Looks to be another beautiful fall day. We will be cleaning the place up this morning and heading south to Ct.

I managed to get quite a bit done here in a short amount of time. Gas heating stove in the kitchen and dinning room is now working properly with the new gas valve. I also cut up all the old decking and moved that to the burn pile out behind the barn. Got the field on both sides of the DW mowed and looking good for the fall. The weather we had the last few days made that possible.

It sounds like many of my TBN friends are doing some similar activities. I also split up some birch rounds that were out behind the barn and got that moved into the wood shed.

My oldest son and his family are coming up here for the October 10 th weekend so we are trying to get the place ready for him and his guests.

I have a few more small jobs to take care of this morning but I think we are in good shape.

Billy, glad that Della got a good swim in the other day 😃

Ron, that squirrel has one very long tail 😉

Hope all have a very good day. 🙏
