73F and sunny @ 13:45, calling for a high of around 75F for the day. Low this morning was 51.4F.

Really slow getting rolling. For some reason I was not sleepy last night and couldn't fall asleep, was up until around 06:30 this morning.

Got a couple gallons of water put around the posts yesterday first thing.

Then swapped out the 12" auger bit for the 6" and proceeded to auger what I thought was the short post hole, couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting anything.

Got off the Kubota and took a look ... turns out it was the wrong hole ... 🤬

Tried on the correct hole and had better luck there ... (y)

Then decided to go ahead and drill the post hole for the H-Brace for the southeast corner post using the 6" auger since it's only for a 4 x 4.

Managed to corkscrew the 6" auger all the way in ... 🤬

Spent the entire afternoon trying to get that freed up, including a trip up to the shop for the larger pipe wrench ... which was actually on the desk in the master bedroom ... 🤬

Finally managed to get it unstuck around 06:30. Nothing obvious in the hole that was causing it to corkscrew ... other than dirt being a little more moist, which isn't surprising given the proximity to the septic leach field.

I think the key thing with the smaller auger is to raise it more often, to clear the dirt out of the hole ... so it doesn't bind/grab quite so much.

Tamped down the dirt around the posts before I knocked off and called it a day.

Main item on agenda for today is to move the hay wagon over where the van currently is so I can work on the posts in the shade.

Refuel the Kubota.

Will grab another bucket of dirt while I'm over at the barn to build up around the 2 corner posts.

Probably tamp the dirt around those some more now that the water I put on them has had a good chance to soak in.

Clean up the one post hole I dug yesterday.

Swap out the 6" auger for the 12".

Beyond that just see what else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a decent Wednesday ... (y)

Attended the funeral this morning for my friend, didn't stay for graveside or get together after.

Got truck mostly packed for camping, and camper about ready. Pulled cover off propane and found large wasp nest, quickly sprayed with a can I keep near the shed.
all tires aired up to spec, including truck.
Only electric hookup at state park, so put some water in the tank.

Last night wife and I were discussing maybe selling the camper. 13 years old.

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 6.5C and it's presently 13.3C [heading to 15C], lightly overcast with wind. It was a blustery night and there was 3.2mm in the gauge @0900.

A full day yesterday with everything accomplished.

Today is a trip into Launceston for an optometrist appointment... somewhat an annual check-up plus I believe that my prescription has changed (for the better) after quitting smoking last Feb. We'll see, eh? I'll leave in about a half hour.

That's about it, take care all.

Good Evening,
Thomas, safe travels tomorrow morning. 🙏

Should have stayed in Vermont. Came home to lights flickering and none of our 220V appliances are working. We realized the problem when we couldn’t get the burners to come on the stove. Went out to the corner of the house and the meter isn’t working either, but we have some lights that are working. Called Eversource and put in a work order. So far they are a no show 🥲
Hope to be straightened out by tomorrow 🙏

Hope all have a good evening 🙏

Made coffee to start day, then Men's Meeting, bike ride, town trip for lunch, meds, groceries, and E0 gas. Saw "Pure Platinum" going down US 82. It is supposed to be the the world's fastest pleasure boat at 185 MPH. Need to sharpen chains, and make pre-mix and get more wood cut & split for winter.

Good morning, the low is 43 and going up to 68°F. Wind ESE 7 mph. Sunny! When ever the sun comes up.

The summer toy garage is dried in again.
Friday I have to go to town, so that is when I will move the Z-turn in. We wont button it up (close the door) until the snow flies.

Yesterday I went for a power nap at 11:30 A.M. and it looks like I may do that again today. The cat gets really confused when I do that.

I might do some body work today. I've got a couple of rust spots on the Dodge that I should give some attention to.

Time to get on with my day.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
Brrrr....it's 44 out! going up to 70 in sun today but a chilly morning.
had to turn the heat on, first time, smells a little but that's seems normal for first startup.
Burning off dust, or something.

going to take my time with finish packing, water everything super well outside, and then take off about 10am.
no sense leaving earlier since I can't check in before 2pm, in Temperanceville VA on the Eastern shore.
I was going to mow the lawn yesterday but it's dry, unhappy, and figured best to just leave it along until we get some rain here.

my oldest and best friend got his first new rv yesterday and it's fun watching him enjoy it. We email almost every day along the
lines of "what about this". This is a murphy bed travel trailer without a slide. Interestingly it is the perfect size for me to pull behind my suv.
He left dealership in PA and booked a night in local rv park to check out his rv. Good idea to make sure everything works. More than a three hour drive back to dealer. They had their first night in an rv last night, will call them later to see how they did.

Coffee has been poured. 44° with with clear skies this morning. Heading to 76° with a mix of sun and clouds. Got back field grass cut yesterday. Need to give MMM a good cleanup. Guess I did not cleanup good enough after hydraulic hose replacement this summer. Grocery shopping today. Then get Flail Mower on tractor. Hope to get side field cut before day is over.
Getting some suet while hanging out.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

/ Good morning!!!! #212,096
looking forward to David's first flail in operation pics
Ron, do you have the "sharp" style blades on your flail?

keeping my fingers crossed on something.
a very unfortunate slip of the fingers while taking off right front tpms sensor
on rv. It unscrewed and promptly fell down the opening in the wheel cover into the center of wheel.
Geez. I felt around through all the wheel holes and could neither see nor feel it.

that means unbolting the funky hub cap which is held on by extensions on every stud up front.
and they were sure rusted shut. Not one would move for me, needs soaking and something.
So I can't get the hub cap off, though thankfully topped off the tire just fine.
The hub cap has phony lug nuts holding it on and clearly needs some neversieze applied for next time.

I looked all around, didn't fall out anywhere, through some other hole..., and now I've got this large walnut sized
chunk of metal and plastic inside my wheel. And I can't get to it.
So I knew I had to do something, so off I went mid yesterday afternoon with rv to see if I heard anything rattling around.
Got it up to 35 and absolutely quiet. Must have wedged itself in there.
not exactly the wheel balancing weight I want at all...wonder if I'll feel a wiggle.

So...when I leave this morning and get it up to highway speed, I may have to turn around and go to the tire shop in NJ
who will take the whole thing apart and put it back together. Though in rethinking this, frankly the smart alternative might be to park my rv at the
tire place's door when they open at 8am. If I put an impact hammer on those hollow nuts, something is going to break.
better it breaks there...

that sounds like a plan. They should be able to get me out of there quickly as in less than an hour.
and I'll ask for the neversieze...

Phil, heavy bag of leaves, looks wonderful for fifteen seconds
sure beats raking

Good Morning thclimer,
Wow that's sure strange, is it a digital or analog meter?
It’s a digital meter. Woke up at 5am and the stove is working with no messages, but have not gone out to look at the meter yet, it’s still dark.
But at least I can use the well pump and take a hot shower 😃

Good Morning,
Ct, 44 to start going to 64. Looks like another beautiful fall day on tap.

It also looks like work today, need to pay for the toys 😉

I did manage to get the grass cut before it got dark last night. Definitely sweat shirt weather riding the Z Turn. 😃

Got a chance to try my new Vibroplex key out for a short contact with an old friend, but right about that time we realized that we had power issues so that was short lived.

Hope all have a blessed and safe day 🙏
