Good morning!!!!

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of -0.3C and it's presently 10.0C [predicted to 14C], overcast & fairly calm.

Lovely Church service yesterday, followed by a quick flue 'whacking/clean-up' when I got home. Just under half a 'camping dishwashing tub' full of light creosote collected.

The only thing planned for today is a scheduled Parish Council meeting this evening @ 1700.

That's about it, take care all.
fire control towers. Not fire as in burning but fire as in shooting
That was my initial 'trade', called a Rating, when I joined the Navy; Firecontrol (FC). I was trained to use (and maintain) FC radar & computer (mostly valve {vacuum tube}/resolver technology at the time) to aim and shoot my ship's main armament.

Of course, you don't do that all of the time, so I was mostly a "Bos'n With A Hobby" whilst at sea.;)

71F and partly cloudy @ 22:00, heading down to around 65F for the overnight low.

Worked getting some more veggies planted. 1 Zucchini, 1 Straight Yellow Summer Squash, 3 Kohlrabi, 2 Crimson Cushion and 1 Trip L Crop tomatoes.

Was going to plant some Okra but decided they need to get a little larger.

Woman still on a tear on the flower bed, hauled one dump cart load of weeds for Her.

Finished up repainting Nest Box No. 5, will put that up in the garden.

Sprayed the area (grass/weeds) in between the strawberry and flower beds with glyphosate. That’s where at least some of the raised beds will be going. 2 1/2 gallons.

Had refill one sprayer to complete that.

Woman ran down to Jersey Mikes for a couple of Philly Cheesesteaks while I was doing that.

After we had dinner She headed out front and weeded around the little peach tree which She completed.

While She was doing that I started mowing the front lawn. Got that half done before it got dark. Will finish that up tomorrow afternoon after I get back from my medical appointment.

Got everything covered that got planted today, also caged the little peach tree with a larger cage.

Just refilled the one sprayer and working on the second one.

Probably assemble that live trap while I’m waiting for it to finish.

Hope everyone had a decent Sunday.

A sneak peak at tomorrows weather tells me the wind will be out of the south-west @ 12 mph. Perfect for felling the trees. I can drop them on the driveway and stuff them into the bush. I will use the BH bucket to encourage them to fall where I want them. Wont be too many bugs either.

Drew, many years ago my Dad was at the veterans day at the CNE (the Toronto fall fair that is the last week of august). The criteria for going and getting in for free was that you had to be in uniform or at the least in your Royal Canadian Legion attire, I was there too and heard a young fella call him a 'pig'. I called the guy out and told him that if it wasn't for people like him we would all be speaking German and living under a dictators rule. There is nothing wrong with speaking German, it was living under a dictators' rule that I didn't like the idea of. If we would have lost the war I wouldn't be here.

Coffee is brewing. 54° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 83° with few cloudy and light winds. Got garden pond maintainace done. Then went to neighbors for a Father's Day get together. There were 13 fathers and their families. Good time. NASCAR was over by the time I got home. Light winds should be a good day to spread some weed killer.
Suppose to be getting Hummingbird's at my feeder.

Mostly, welcome back. Did you ride your bike that 484 miles?

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

Good morning from Central Texas.
68.2 degrees, dew point 67.9
We have been getting somewhat unexpected rains. Although the forecast included a chance, seems that it usually doesn't pan out this time of year. So the 1.5+ inches the last couple days has been welcome.
Unfortunately, from previous storms this year I will be having to replace my roof from hail damage. Waiting on the adjuster to come out, but already had a trustworthy roofing company out and was notified the roof is toast. In shock what the deductible is these days !

The USAF has multiple penetration "bunker buster" weapons that (IDF ?) may be used against hardened or underground targets. A series of BLU's (bomb live unit) weapons / reinforced concrete penetration:
BLU 109 series (6ft)
BLU 116 series (11ft)
BLU 113 series (20ft)
The additional GBU munitions (guided bomb unit) add kits or are designed for accuracy with the GBU 57 MOP (massive ordinance penetrator) 30,000 pound bomb the largest known. Claimed penetration is 200 ft of soil / concrete. Only the B-2 spirit bomber has been converted to deliver this weapon (carry 2).

Hope all enjoy the day !

good morning all
nice to have birds wake me up at normal time with some light out, not another rainy morning.

Welcome home Mostly, sounds like quite a trip.

Ron, another prize winning bird picture, that lens is marvelous

60 out now in mostly clouds, only getting up to 66 today.
Seriously warm weather due in for next weekend it seems. Tis the season.

when I went to give blood for labs on Saturday nice lady said oh this Blue Cross says inactive.
what??
so...expecting an endless amount of time on hold today trying to straighten that out

not much else planned today, might drive to Campers World in Montgomeryville to order an inside trim part.
My repairs to the bathroom door frame caused by that water leak simply looks atrocious. Need to replace the whole trim,
which is vinyl covered fake wood.

and today for sure I need to pick green beans again. Should have another dinner's worth.

Spike, yup, "your waiting time will be 13 minutes"
and then you get disconnected

I actually find Googles AI answers to questions pretty helpful,
have been reading about AI all my life in sci fi.
Hal has finally come to stay.

I often find here the urge to ask a question but then think, just look it up yourself.
what Hal doesn't understand is I like the different accents...
where once in a while a wombat walks into our lives.

it's an interesting concept to think globally. Really wish we had someone back on here from Europe.

birds are flocking in. Looks like they are looking over here saying where's the good stuff?
So out I go, they often get fed before I do. The nuts and fruit bits get attacked, and they know they don't always
get a switch from sunflower seeds, so it's party time after I dump some on top of the other seeds.
and for sure the squirrels must smell the good stuff too.

Good morning TBN!!!
65 this morning going to mid 80s with Tstorms possible again. .25" in the gauge from yesterday.

Spent the day entertaining the dog and working on the tractor again. Lots of little things to do.
I got my stabilizer bar welded up. I will finish cleaning up the welds and putting them back on. Also pulled the power steering reservoir. I still can't find that leak. I cut the end of the house off and re installed. I will use trace leak on it if it still leaks.
More of the same today. Rain may be earlier and longer then yesterday.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!!
