Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #206,482
47°F and cloudy this morning, only going up to 58° today. Looks like we're finally done with the rain for awhile. Been a wet spring here.

I've spent the last two weeks dealing with a large (1cm) kidney stone. If you've never had one, I do not recommend it. Fortunately, because it was so large, it stayed close to the kidney and presented itself well for "extracorporeal sonic wave lithotripsy" (say that five times fast!) where they blasted it into smaller pieces with sound waves. It's been quite the journey.

Hope everyone is well.

Good morning, gents.
Been there done that 4 times last year! Get better

Mostly
little girl puppy so much fun, so much work, requires so much attention - love it.
Can see changes daily
The boys have accepted her and she is on her way to ruling the roost.
I have no doubt she spent most of her 10 week life in a very nice kennel as the owners ran 2 restaurants. Here she is only in her crate for bed or we have to leave her unsupervised.
Our house is quite challenging for potty training. Acid stained (greenish) concrete floors thoughout the house with lots of concrete patio surrounding. We have 3 grassed potty areas off the kitchen/living room accessible via 4 doors, 1 stays open. The bedroom has 3 grassed potty areas (2 are same as kitchen/living room) accessible via 3 doors, 1 of which has a doggy door). How’s that for options? And of course, all are used every day.
She locked in location of food bowl and water dish first day and likes the boys adult kibble as well as her puppy chow. Of course the boys prefer the puppy chow. Sophie makes them all a milk, oatmeal, meat breakfast and she already knows to sit just out side the door for her bowl. then she helps the boys who have larger bowls.
She mastered the puppy door her second day and yesterday started going out herself to potty. Also goes out the open living room door. Doesn’t alway make it off the cement, but at least headed right direction.
Simba, the cat, and her play much as Simba played with the boys as pups. Sophie has seen him roll her twice. Simba is a bit bigger.
She follows me to tractor shed in morning when I check my power system, right there with the boys to get a treat. Haven’t figured out how to tell her yet that trip along the concrete drive isn’t a potty area.
She gets very annoyed she isn’t big enough to jump up on the bed with the boys, but she sure tries, but she is very much at home on the doggy pillows and muddy mat rugs.
Not getting a lot of other stuff done, but loving it.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 12.5C and it's presently 17.5C with high cloud & fairly calm at the moment.

I went to bed early last night (2100) and arose at a refreshing 0730. Just a relaxing day is 'planned', although I may be tempted to go out this arvo and dismantle a few far-away signs.

That's about it, take care all.

Well, I finally got the tree that fell over two years ago cut and skidded up to where it will live out the rest of its' life. Surprisingly it wasn't rotten much in the middle. Now for the next tree that fell over this past winter. If I cant knock them down because of the wind, I can at least use the ones that are already down.
I am only doing one job per day. No point in working myself into an early grave.
Also dressed up the driveway where I skidded the tree.
I've got the base cement patio stone up to where I can place it for the support for the fuel oil meter. I also dug out a 4x4 from my stash that will work with a little 'creative' cutting. The bottom 6" is rotten, so that'll get cut off.

Happy Birthday Mrs. Fuddy!

I didn't take the battery out of the Z-turn last fall and it started right up today. A little choke and full throttle and she fired right up. This mower has never seen anything but zero ethanol gas, Shell V-power ever since I took delivery of it. Last fall I cleaned up under the deck and sharpened the blades and changed the oil & filter. She is good until this fall.

Morning all!
54 and raining. Rain in the forecast for the week.
fighting arthritis still since my last post. Now my neck has decided to join in. Gave up trying to heal by doing nothing. Back to doing what I can by taking my time.

My broken egg project won the contest! Bragging rights till the next contest!
Wife's temp tooth fell off again. She will be heading there early this morning! Permanent won't be ready till the 20th.

Got a few projects completed in the work shop.
Apple box 3x3.

Tried to make a hollow form out of sycamore but went to thin. Broke off on the entrance. I turned it into a dish.
IMG_1351.jpg
Grabbed a piece of ash and got the hollow form that I wanted turned.
IMG_1355.jpg
Need to head to the store and pick up some mulch to go around a few outside areas. Will stop at the place that leaves maple blanks out for people to take and see if there is any available. After that will probably head to the shop.
Hopefully a quiet week for us. Don't have any appointments on the calendar. Will try to squeeze a few walks in during lulls in the rain.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

   / Good morning!!!! #206,497
doing what I can by taking my time.

and doing it beautifully Phil.
your woodworking is marvelous.

reminds me, maybe a good day to build a birdhouse with the cedar I bought.
my nice wooden bird feeders are just wrecked by the squirrels, wish I had built houses instead.
in particular I want one on the top of my new fence near the garage. already have bluebirds in house on corner of garage.
they fly in and out constantly. So the next feeder can't be too close. Thirty feet should do.

yesterday I got out the steel wool and some penetrating oil and scrubbed the iron/steel work surfaces of my band saw, vise, drill press, etc, which
had a winter layer of crud on them. Now oiled and shiny. Ready to make some sawdust. Weather should be in the sixties, perfect to open garage door and work inside/outside in that. Looks damp and foggy out now.

monday fifth of may, let's see what it will bring us

Good Morning
60° and foggy. High of 65 with good chance of rain throughout the day.

Yesterday started with cleaning the gutters, then some puttering. Met a friend at the auto repair shop to give him a ride back after dropping his truck off.
The shop is owned by another friend that was there working on his dune buggy. He was making a batch of mounting tabs by hand.
IMG_6566.jpg

I convinced him that let me make them for him.

IMG_6563.jpg

IMG_6564.jpg

I cut out 45 of them in about 5 minutes, and spent another 5 or 10 making the drawing. The plasma cut hole was accurate enough for the rivnuts, so they were ready to go.

Puttered around some more before calling it a day.

Today starts with an 8am dermatologist appointment, then not sure what I’ll find to occupy me. Probably going to be too wet to mow.
Oddfellows meeting tonight.
