This is what the roofing job looks like at end of yesterday. Most of my last 2 days was spent going up and down the yellow ladder. My neighbor did most of the on roof work. Will get 2 pieces of trim and ridge cap on today.

good morning all
wow Ron what a cool moon pic, thanks for getting up
too cloudy here, though once in a while the moon would come through brightly

60 degrees today, should be nice

Hotpoint washing machine broke on me yesterday, kept overfilling (what a change from typical
modern washer that washes with what seems to be too little water).
found washer full of water to overflowing. Ran spin cycle and tried again. Overflowed and stopped again.
I'm guessing some kind of water depth sensor or control. They said they could not come out til Tuesday but would order
that part just to make sure it was on truck. (local place in Stockton NJ sold the unit).
good news is I can wait that long to do wash, and no cost to me. Bad news is several of you guys could fix this in probably half
an hour and I regret not having the smarts or ability to do it.

because of super acidic water here for 60+ years, anything that touches water in this house is suspect. Now the water is filtered, and ok, but
the damage has been done to copper plumbing. Though I think I'm just dealing with an old washer here, bottom of line white rental unit, always an issue
if worth fixing. I have had constructive talks with my landlord about why they need to have data on each rental house they have, showing ages of appliances, when oil burner last cleaned etc. They were receptive to ideas but ?

I think today I will hook the rv up to outside water and see what leaks. Maybe the leak fairy came this winter
and took all leaks home...hopefully just means tightening clamps. I did a little waxing yesterday, trying to get good curb appeal
out of this older girl.

that roof looks awesome Ron, nice job. Hope your legs are ok. You will sure never be doing that roof again 👍
I really like the color

41 going to 58. Yesterday had an unusual easterly cool wind all day. Felt like the beach in winter.

Rip, that's a huge tree. White oak or yellow poplar or something else?

Scotty, nice porches.

Leeches. I had never seen one until a couple of years ago when I finished swimming in the river and had the bugger attached to my calf. What a surprise. I just yanked it off.

Ron, that roof is a piece of art. You guys know what you are doing.

Did my own taxes for a change yesterday instead of others'. Wish I hadn't. Ouch on how much we owe...need to up the withholding. I still have one more tax return to do, for my wife's mom who passed away last year.

Then went back to work on clearing brush out of an old lespedeza food plot...had one discovery, an apple tree I had planted many years ago. Dragged dozens of small trees to make a new wildlife brush pile and then dug holes for planting the elderberries. Need to clear off one more area and dig holes for planting Scotch pines. Then do all planting at once. I've definitely stirred up some old sleeping muscles.

When I changed our cell phone plan last week to reduce cost and got the "free" Samsung S25 phones, the new ones were delivered the next business day by UPS. Fast. But I haven't had time to set them up. I need to transfer all the old data, contacts, calendar, photos and apps from the old S22 phones. There is an app from Samsung called Smart Switch. Anyone used it and have any feedback?

Enjoy your day all.

good morning, 38 going 61 nice full moon

Printer that was lost and reordered showed up yesterday and took the old HP out and connected the new Brother one and made it work. Went easier that I had expected with my limited IT skills and it even works from the iPhone too

Financial advisor phone call today and who knows what else I can find

Good morning, the low is 27 and going to a high of 52°F. No wind. Sunny! I can handle that.

Scraping today and maybe move some piles of snow. I have a swale and a 24" culvert running under my driveway. With all the snow I have piled on the high side of the culvert, it will probably flood. So I gotta move that snow to the low side. I will integrate that into the scraping. It is nothing new. Just a little bit more that what I did last year. All the movement with my rear chains will help to break up the ice.

Ron, your tin roof looks good! It will definitely outlast you.

Have a safe day all

37 outside right now, heading to upper 50's.
Today I will take it easy. Lots of changes going on at customer sites. I still have a few POC's left, but they are under the added burden of taking more responsibilities. Our contracts will not cover those, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Last person standing on the deck, please rearrange the chairs.

wngsprd, the tree is a Silver Maple. Worst tree to plant around a building, ever. We estimate these trees to be in the 70 to 100 year old range. There 5 of them left around the front of the house. The one that is coming down, died last spring as it was budding. We have taken out 5 by the houses over the past 10 years, all require professionals. They are just too big for me.

Tomorrow looks to be fun, a company meeting at a local hot spot. Looking forward to it, for sure. Free food. LOL.

Hope all have a great day and a better start to the weekend. Be safe.

Good morning TBN!!

40 this morning with another nice day ahead. Mid 70s with sun.

Put some of the finishing touches on torch cart. Still need to figure out the safety chains. Also I need to finalize the lifting hook design
Plan on starting on the tank. Need to spread some plastic with sand on top so I can roll it to a couple of openings and let it drain what sludge it can. Probably won't start cutting on it until Monday. Supposed to get some serious storms early Sunday morning.
Also I have a lot to clean up with the remnants of multi projects still spread out all over.

But for now I will get a second cup and see what surprises today holds.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good morning! 66˚F heading to the mid 80s. We are under a red flag fire alert also known as a pool leaf alert day. Low humidity, strong west wind.

The large double Durango 12' tall metal arched front door looks good after being polished with Kleen King powder. Glad that job is over.
Also mowed the yard mostly to pick up the leaves and dead grass.

Today I'll wash the truck, polish the courtyard gate, work on the dry river bed, and do some shopping. Wait that's too much, will try to do at least two of the proposed 4 jobs, got to maintain my easy retirement status.

on this day in 2012 I was having great fun using my first three point plow.
just roughing up the field before rototilling.
only plow I had used before was an ancient drawbar plow pulled by John Deere B
great fun getting a little dirt on the tires

had no idea what I was doing but probably one of the most fun things I knew to do.
First I took a single shank ripper to it, that didn't work well, then went to moldboard plow.
that worked better but sure left a mess. Didn't have a disc back then.
which made the first pass on the pull behind rototiller a bit bumpy
field had not been tilled in decades, thick field turf.

Good Morning,
Ct, 36 to start going to 57 with partially sunny skies!

Went out with friends for dinner last night, one of Kathleen’s college roommates ! Nice time, food was good, and tonight another dinner out with another couple that we are friends with ! On Sunday, I go to the early church service and then to St Patrick’s parade, and then a house full of people after the parade ! I think by Sunday night we will be shot ! 😉

There is an app from Samsung called Smart Switch. Anyone used it and have any feedback?
Billy, no experience with that , we both have I phones with AT &T support ! I’m guessing your plan is more reasonable! When I got my new phone , I just had to put both phones side by side and it automatically transferred data ! Although my notes did not transfer and I had to manually do that ! I just use an I phone 8 and I’m quite happy with it ! I really like the smaller size ! I don’t need a TV screen for a phone ! 😉

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 38° going to a high of 62°, cloudy and setting us up for rain this weekend. A good time to do my errands and get the suppressor. Mower will have to continue waiting until I feel properly motivated.

Oil change on the tractor went smoothly, everything was easy to get at and I only spilled enough oil to make the EPA slightly nervous but not at SuperFund levels. Found a few more grease zikrs and hit those while I was down there, took the tractor on a little joyride just to make sure everything was happy and humming along. I forget how heavy that tractor is compared to the sub-compact my father has and the zero turn, all that to say I left some ruts behind me. Whoops. Gotta remember, only bring that tractor out when it is Dry with a capital D or Frozen with a capital F.

Still need to scrape off the excess dirt from the maple that split last winter and carry it away. Now need to look into grinder rental again, but that can wait until the old man returns. We'll see what else is on the docket after that.

Drew, Belated Happy Birthday to you and many more!
wingsprd: I've had no trouble with the Samsung Smart Switch, even with my habit of holding onto phones until they've got one foot in the grave, I've never had an issue transferring data from my old one to the new one.

Prayers for those ailing and recovering!
Y'all stay safe out there and enjoy the weekend!

Morning all, 39 to 59 and full cloud cover.
Got the little 490 saw working, cleaned plug and carb.
Emptied the tank and changed gas, even though it's canned gas, put that in my blower and it started right up. Who knows what fixed the saw, but it's running.

Roof looks great Ron.

NHBX - hope it's something cheap to fix.

Wmgsprd - smartswitch worked fine for me last year to bring up my new phone.

We had a big brush fire yesterday on the other side of town, multiple fire companies put it out, got close to a daycare, so it was evacuated. Luckily no one hurt.

Called Dad's GF, conversation went a lot better, now that she is sober again :(

Time for a haircut today. Maybe give the stinky dog a bath.

Be well,

Just can’t get a good moon pic with iPhone.
Threw batteries in an old digital camera, and it didn’t work. So tried an older digital camera, and it wouldn’t work. Forgot about the old digital camcorder.
Guess I should get another digital camera for these occasions. Just more stuff to keep up with.
Was cold outside last night.
IMG_0109.png

Looked a little white at the top the whole time. Went to bed before it started to transition.

Good Morning Again,
It has been brought to you by attention that I have been using exclamation points at the ends of my sentences instead of a period.
I apologize to anyone who may have been offended by this. I did this not really knowing that I’m even doing it. So sorry for my poor writing style.

Have a great day 😃

St. Patty's Day parade
not very meaningful to me
guy died a long time ago, in 461 AD
patron saint of Ireland

his most famous quote is
He who believes shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be damned.

a my way or the highway kind of guy I guess
fairly common approach among organized religion
as a cultural affirmation of a beautiful island country that is a hot tourist destination,
sure, let's drink some green beer.

Scott, you deserve two green beers!
I'm happy to read anything you write
