Had a nice dinner with two of our best friends, I had chicken parmigiana that was excellent and huge, brought more than half home. Great garlic knots too, even the tea was good.

46ｰ with overcast, chance of showers and windy through tomorrow night. Kids have all gone home, things are quiet again. Animals and Ellen are napping. We have a dinner date with friends this evening, then another week gets started.
I found out Friday that my TAVR procedure is scheduled for December 13, that痴 Friday the 13th, do I feel lucky? I知 hoping that new valve does me great wonders.

Thanks Kyle. We very much enjoyed hosting the hunt. The kids enjoyed the hunt. As I previously noted ... most had never hunted before. They all camped out, in their tents, at our VFD and we had a great warming fire pit they really enjoyed.

I suspect we'll approve a repeat, at our next VFD board meeting. We hosted the hunt along with TPWD.

The weather was almost perfect, not a drop of rain, cool mornings and evenings. The kids were exceptional ... very polite, very appreciative. They asked questions about hunting and I don't think I ever saw any of them with their nose in a smart phone. We had lots of small group conversations about safety, conservation, hunting etiquette, etc. around the camp fire.

Good morning.

The temp is 21 °F and it is going to a high of 37. Wind ENE 15 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.

I have two things left to do before winter sets in. I need to put up a couple of sheets of plywood to protect my floor to ceiling windows from the snow load that comes off the steel roof. Last winter we shovelled the pile down, this winter I am trying to avoid that.
I also need to put a couple of sheets of plywood at the back of the portable shelter to keep the wind from blowing snow into the shelter on the back end, and that will be the end of the winter preparation.

I will be ordering a load of furnace oil/#1 diesel fuel to fill the tank.
That is about all there is on my plate for today.
