funny I saw an interesting video comparing Sams and Costco pricing.
it pays to shop as can be some real bargains with one of them, like Tide detergent.

I keep a spreadsheet with costco and sams prices for what I buy. I don't update prices all the time. They are pretty much dead equal on all things I use. Some carry things the other don't. I think Costco has better specials at times, but Sams is so much easier to shop in, parking, gas station, etc that I dread going to costco any more.

Wife said the other day she missed having a train around the Christmas tree, so I bought a cheap plastic one as Sams club today.

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 13C and it's presently 27.1C, bit of a haze [not from any smoke, though] but mostly clear & fairly calm.

A lovely Christmas lunch gathering with my fellow Veterans + spouses, yesterday.

Nothing planned for today.

I think that is the smart choice that most guys want. My oldest son getting married next Nov, in part because of lower cost then, but also all the places are booked. It seems fewer church weddings these days, it's event centers. We were married in Wife's church, so there was no cost there. Most preachers I know don't charge or just take a donation. Our church is available for members, last one we had was outside in the lawn.
My best friend from HS eloped. Just found out recently he's divorced after 40+ yrs of marriage.

My last marriage was in the local VFW hall (just a bit over ten years ago), we had them cater the dinner and hired a local band that we enjoyed listening too. I think we spent about $2000.

We were married at a Friends Meeting, no minister, reception was outside pot luck at MIL’s property (she was a widow). That was almost 52 years ago, I’m sure that we spent more for the small party we had for our 50th anniversary with family and friends that were with us in the Meetinghouse.
