a little finger of snow is poking down from New York, may give some flurries in a little bit, more likely North of here.
Popgadget, fair skies for you

Ron, you are very talented at this but I hope you take a supervisory role.
Sometimes we need to let younger folks do this stuff. I sure do.
now seat time we get til we fall out of it.
our tractors should be the last to go...
just look at Dennis's Dad.

Buppies, hope you are having a good day. You surely deserve a few.

time for breakfast and second cup.
hope you all have a great day.

Good morning TBN!!
27 this morning. Should be mid 60s this afternoon with increasing clouds. Big storm to move in overnight/early morning. Bringing 40 to 50 MPH winds with it.
Another trip to town yesterday. :( I needed a longer axle for my torch project. It shoulda been done in just an hour or so. I've stretched it out way to much and for way to long. Got back and did some fitting. Will weld it up today and try out the Yeswelder helmet that came yesterday.
Finally got my steps back over 9k. Dog appreciates it.
Just puttered for the rest of the day.
No real plans for today. I'll tack the axle on and then do some pre wind clean up.
News said this morning that there are about 200 fires burning in the Carolinas. Thankfully the nearest one is about 60 miles from us. I hope it stays that way. With all the wood down from Helene there is plenty of fuel to make them get real bad real quick.

Time for a second cup!
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning,
Ct, 22 to start going to 48 ! Partly cloudy right now, hopefully some sun moving in this morning!

Looks like I will be working a few hours this morning and possibly a few hours tomorrow morning before the heavy rains move in ! Really don’t like working in the rain, especially heavy rains move!

to time a visit to Popgadget's later this week
Drew, you might be just in time for some smoked pork belly ! Wish that Paul was closer, I would come and visit also ! 😉😂

Ron, glad to hear you have some younger help for the roof ! 🙏

Happy, I’m hoping to get some steps in after work today !

Hope all have a good Tuesday ! 🙏

My 40 year old neighbor is called the Kid. 🥴 I still call my 2 sons Kids. They are 61 and 52. All my other neighbors know who I am talking about. Even though some are younger than 40. 🙃🤠
I am the Supervisor.

Good morning,
19° now high 48° winds SW at 10-15 mph. Mix of sun/clouds this morning, cloudy afternoon.

Loved reading about the winter memories of youth, mine echoed many of the same. We had a “huuuge” hill to sled and toboggan on, at least it was huge to us kids lol. I even tried a blanket sail on the sled with a mast made from hockey sticks, didn’t work very well, got the idea after watching someone on the pond flying around on an iceboat. Great times, thanks for digging up the memories. My favorite was pond hockey, we would play every afternoon when ever there was good ice. Spent a lot of time with a shovel clearing the ice.

Yesterday stayed busy after shopping cleaning out more boxes from shed loft and loaded into truck for next dump run. Mrs snuck out and picked up Chinese for supper, plenty left for tonight as well 👍.

Funny this talk of printers, my hp ink jet wouldn’t print as usual, so went the brother monochrome laser route last week, still needs to be unboxed and set up, maybe today?

Enjoy your day everyone
Stay safe and healthy

good morning, 34 going to 59 wind gusts to 11 mph

Going for wife infusion and picking up groceries

Working on getting the injured finger moving is work in progress. Amazing how being immobile for 4 weeks can make it that hard to get it to bend. Using various ways including taping it to put pressure on it

39 outside this AM. Should head up to 60 today. Dry, then the weather people say wet, real wet for Wednesday.

Another late night with real jobs. Things are breaking all over. Not good.

Not sure what I will get into today. May have to pay neighbor a visit. Dogs are howling like a wild pack of animals, this AM at 6. Over the last few days, random. Takes them about 3 or four minutes before they quiet up. Darn annoying. Must be at least 3 or 4 of them. Not hunting dogs, so no idea what is messing with them. Sure is loud.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

First on Race Day Drew or found on roadside dead. I ran a Ford fairlane back in the day GT 390 four speed took a lot of heat from some was called redneck by others but they all wanted to ride when no one was around, imagine that

my wheel center cap came in to replace the one on driver's side that is corroded half white. Salt damage I'm sure.
17 bucks later and wheel looks much better
other choice was 24 bucks for four from aftermarket.
but my other three caps are fine. And with a coat of wax will stay that way.

when I replaced it, I could immediately feel the surge of an extra 50hp. ;)

Fairlane GT 390 with a stick is a prized car today. White with a red or blue interior please.
get a set of the right street aftermarket tube headers and exhaust, and boy
would that sound nice cruising to cars and coffee.

I think you can do pretty much what you want up til about 1970.
I wonder if you can get an exemption for emission control due to age of vehicle.
some states don't have any testing it seems.

sometimes it's fun to look at crate motors online and think
what could I put that in?
and not huge horsepower either, otherwise you have to change out whole drivetrain.
for me, it would be more what makes the nicest noise.

brother brought me home in his M8. Not easy to get in and out, sits so low.
He had it in sport mode coming back through town, dash all lit up in sport red, red all over the place, with exhaust
snap crackling and popping as we slowed down. fun to listen to but tiring after a while. Like most toys.

if a state/country has an income tax, taxing labor 13% sure seems like double dipping. Makes everything more expensive.
which I think we all might be about to experience.
If I go into Harbor Freight and everything is 20 percent more expensive now, who is actually paying for all this?
The bad guys in China making state subsidized goods?
I don't think so.
We are, the consumer. Manufacturer will just raise price to compensate.
If I pay 20 percent more for something, isn't it me paying the tariff, not some other country?

begs the question what should we stock up on, before the inevitable increases.

Red black interior hurst four speed great sound. The man I sold it to wrapped it a telephone pole
they weren't known to be the best handlers and that was a big lump of iron up front.
just don't exceed laws of physics and tires weren't so good back then.
as i found out in 1966 flipping my 58 Impala and putting it on its roof.
I kept turning the wheel and not much was happening, pure lack of traction and
into the ditch I went. The culvert in the ditch made a great flipper for the car.
it was a beautiful car and I wrecked it.
Good lesson and never did that again.

if car was wrecked, and was junked, wonder where that nice Hurst got to.
They sure had some springs in them.

what's funny is today a V6 Camry is almost as fast as that big block Ford.
sure doesn't sound or look as good.

continuing to unpack stuff from rv.
looked into shower stall and what a mess
shower head mechanism had frozen and literally exploded
into six pieces, multiple springs, plastic bits.
yup, forgot to take it off wall and let it drain out.
I couldn't find cracked plastic but parts didn't easily go back together.

thankfully not expensive, rv faucets are cheap, and easy to screw on another one.
will watch ten day forecast carefully, want to put water back into rv and work on the plumbing.
need to put the new water filter cartridges in first under kitchen sink.
And make sure plug is back in hot water heater. Certain things you have to do in order or first.

always a question of what will work when you turn it back on after the winter.
and what will drip drip drip
