66°F and .41 inches rain

Got some mowing yesterday. More like spot mowing. Lack of rain = lack of growth, but there are a couple of areas always thicker so I did those in hopes area will be more manageable upon return from Ireland

Today I’ll switch it up a bit and hit some internal areas with the BX.

Mardi Gras Happy hour fun. Great food again

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 8:15AM. Clouds and some sun this morning with more clouds for this afternoon. High 63F. Winds WNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Looks like we're moving into a wetter weather pattern across California. Two days of rain this week, at least five more next week. Wonder if the water authority will be bold enough to let the reservoir levels start to rise again.
did not realize that the apple software update 18.3.1 turned on the AI feature automatically for the IPhone
I noticed that, and turned AI off, too. Maybe in the next version I'll give it a try, but for now I'm leery of letting the genie out of the bottle. Apple has a bad history of changing settings when they issue updates, effectively forcing those changes on its customers without warning. But at least they're much better at not introduceing significant bugs in their updates. Back in the days before iOS, and MacOS was called System something or other, I'd spend days just getting the machine to boot after an update. Grrrr...

Hired a realtor yesterday after confirming the home's asking price will be way out of neighbor's sister's budget range. So now just waiting for a dry spell to get a pro photographer up there for stills, movies, and drone shots. Already have copy for the ad, and a long list of disclosures.

Spent the rest of the day unloading the van. Today will be for unpacking boxes and figuring out where what's in 'em will go. 6200 steps yesterday, I bet I beat that by a considerable margine today.

in 1892 some local group gave this statue of George Washington to the city of Trenton NJ.
The building at far left I believe is DMV where I'm headed early Friday morning with sister to transfer title on volvo.
poor George, looks like no one has ever cleaned him. He is in dire need of a suit cleaning.

I was checking the location on Google Maps and found George standing over there a block away.

51°F and spotty showers this morning, going up to 60° today. Most of the heavy stuff missed us to the north, but more is expected this afternoon. Just when the mud was starting to firm up ...

Wife sent me a text message earlier telling me that she saw some movement over the garage, and when she looked saw a pigeon walking around on the roof. Can't say I've ever seen a pigeon out where we live.

Seeing that Alesis gear takes me back to the '80s and '90s, Paul, when MidiVerbs and ART ProVerbs ruled the racks, fighting for space among the Yamaha SPX90s (& SPX90IIs).

Good afternoon, gents.

Back from North Bay, trip was mostly uneventful. Train tied up the main road for a good 10 minutes.
The idiot light for a loose gas cap came on and is still on. Even though I removed the cap and put it back a few times.
Averaged 19 mpg U.S. both ways on the highway. Ran 65 mph on the way up on partially snow covered/wheel track bare roads. Ran 70 mph on wet roads coming home. No ribs today, tried the Philly Cheese-steak sandwich for a change. Not bad, a little pricey at $21.99 but that included a side which I turned down.
It is supposed to get up to 45°F tomorrow. Might plow some of the slop off the driveways. Thursday will be another dump/town run.
Still waiting on my last T-4 (in the U.S. it is a 1099 form I think).
I looked under the hood and didn't see any gold, so I think that Dodge is asking way too much for their parts. The more they sting me for parts, the closer I will be to a Toyota Tacoma being my next vehicle.
Unfortunately the hill I used for tobogganing is now a subdivision and has been for the past 30+ years.

planted the new fence post for the one broken off, didn't do the one still held up with a t post. gathered SD cards from outdoor cameras and saved on computer. Need to replace the cell camera at the farm, it's draining batteries in a matter of hours, by taking many pics when it shouldn't be. That's the oldest of my cell cams.

snagglepuss wants in the house... Got many pictures of her running around outside, in addition to several other cats, fox, raccoon, squirrel, deer, birds..

Good (Ash Wednesday) morning. Overnight Low of 17.9C and it's presently 25.0C, clear & calm.

A few things accomplished yesterday; recycling drop-off at the tip, minor repair/maintenance at the Church + change the vestments to 'purple' for Lent, followed by a quick stop for a packet of pikelets & some 100% maple syrup for Shrove/Fat Tuesday evening tea.

Today is 'into town' day for groceries. Later on will be the Ash Wednesday service at 1530.

That's about it, take care all.

Good morning 65˚F heading to the mid 70s, S wind cloudy.

Perfect weekend for the "Farm" finally - sunny and the low 80s. With the tulip festival and the baby animals we had a bumper crowd - 5000 for the weekend. On my 5 hr. tractor shift yesterday I hauled 600 people, some of the trailers were full - 60 people.

The pic below does not give the tulip field justice. The best view was from the tractor road on the back side but I couldn't stop for the pic because I never had an empty trailer. At least you can see the photo opps the finished windmill, the baby grand piano and the bicycle. I was finally able to take this pic after closing.
One of our favorite spring time trips was to the visit Keukenhof Gardens

Today I finished horse stable dutch doors. Only 5 years old but construction company used 2x6s & 3/4" plywood they had here.
This is the worst one...but rotten.
I used pressure treated everything. Each door weighs 300# (150# each half). Three coats primer, then gloss white & brown.
Fun lifting each onto sawhorses, carrying inside to paint.
Lots of work (& $) but turned out well.

Fairlane GT 390 with a stick is a prized car today. White with a red or blue interior please.
get a set of the right street aftermarket tube headers and exhaust, and boy
would that sound nice cruising to cars and coffee.

I think you can do pretty much what you want up til about 1970.
I wonder if you can get an exemption for emission control due to age of vehicle.
some states don't have any testing it seems.

sometimes it's fun to look at crate motors online and think
what could I put that in?
and not huge horsepower either, otherwise you have to change out whole drivetrain.
for me, it would be more what makes the nicest noise.

brother brought me home in his M8. Not easy to get in and out, sits so low.
He had it in sport mode coming back through town, dash all lit up in sport red, red all over the place, with exhaust
snap crackling and popping as we slowed down. fun to listen to but tiring after a while. Like most toys.

if a state/country has an income tax, taxing labor 13% sure seems like double dipping. Makes everything more expensive.
which I think we all might be about to experience.
If I go into Harbor Freight and everything is 20 percent more expensive now, who is actually paying for all this?
The bad guys in China making state subsidized goods?
I don't think so.
We are, the consumer. Manufacturer will just raise price to compensate.
If I pay 20 percent more for something, isn't it me paying the tariff, not some other country?

begs the question what should we stock up on, before the inevitable increases.
I’ve pretty much decided this tariff stuff should be approached as opportunity to save money, much like the 30+% increase in eating out. 30+% being defined as the 33 1/3% top increase from 15-20 on top of the 10+% price increase on the menu. So, yes, I pay the expected 20%, but far less often, so total lessor amount. Not my fault if less business.
Now I will hesitate more and likely buy less items I absolutely don’t need. Maybe even buy better quality when I do. Gonna seem like a win.

yes! sign of a good organization, one supervisor checking out another supervisor...chain of command
Have to chuckle, can’t even guess number of times I’ve seen the dogs supervising from a distance and commented to Sophie.
