have been watching the Kennedy hearings online, fascinating
learned of different states having same issues with health care in rural america

not sure telehealth is more than a triage mechanism, though using smarter AI now
maybe if Amazon could deliver meds within four hours to your home, that would be a start.
but if folks don't have a BP meter at home, missing lot of vital info. At some point you need lab
work done. Maybe make getting self diagnostic lab work easier. ? Probably would get abused but maybe
if first approved by Mildred, the nice lady robot that I dealt with.

what has to be reduced is unnecessary misuse of EMS, guys like Ted driving ambulances at one time
who know the same old folks who needed some tlc and attention in the nice warm hospital.
Our health care is incredibly expensive and statistically doesn't work all that well compared to our peers.
We may be a rich nation but we aren't all that healthy.
so much of this is due to diet.
one too many quarterpounder and fries on a national scale

I hope they don't decree that fat shaming is ok. Easy target for haters.

my local hospital is full with flu and respiratory patients.

David, good to be in balance. ;)

Good Morning!!!! 39F @ 6:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 57F. Winds light and variable.

The '23 Camry and Promaster both came with printed owner's manuals. The infotainment system in the Promaster came with a separate manual that was several hundred pages long. Ugh.

Too bad that Ford dealer doesn't believe in repeat customers, Drew. Only saving grace is it was just hoses, and not something major.

During my recent experiences getting re-established with a family doctor and running down some health issues I could never get an appointment that was less than two weeks away, and some, like an MRI, took six weeks. That's how people end up at the emergency room for problems that aren't life and death. The low medical school graduation rate will ensure that the problem only gets worse.

Fooled around getting setup to buck wood on Monday, and only got a quarter pallet done. Saw wasn't cutting very well, and used up a half dozen batteries before daylight gave out. Put on a freshly sharpened chain for Tuesday, and finished that pallet and got a quarter of another one filled. Might have enough wood to fill it the rest of the way today, but it'll be close. I'll be glad when that little job is done.

Load tested the batteries in the Ford yesterday, and they both failed. They've been on a BatterySaver charger for the past six weeks, so there's no saving them. Gonna try to get to the Ford dealer today or tomorrow to get new ones. They're in month 27 of a 36 month "free warranty", sez so in big letters right on the side of the batteries, both Motorcraft from the Ford dealer. Hope I don't get any static when I try to make the exchange.

Happy Hump Day, already!

Wind gusts have been strong all day. I was careful to stay clear of trees when walking Cody

D was invited to attend the National Prayer Breakfast next week sitting at the table for the Bahrain Embassy

More trees down the better, want to eventually be done with the cleanup.
Have a few really stubborn ones, right along the trail I made, of course.
Can hear the trees smacking into each other, what a racket :)

Good Afternoon,
Got a little ambitious this morning and repainted all the sheet rock walls flat white going down into the basement!
Actually have part of one wall left to do before I ran out of paint ! Started about 10:30 and was done by 2 pm and that includes a lunch break at 12:30 ! Looks so much better than it was ! I don’t think I have painted this in 30 years or more ! All the years running the wood stove in the basement left those walls somewhat less that white ! 😉

That’s it for today, need to rest up for work tomorrow! 😂

Well morning (afternoon) chores done for the day :)
Little bit of snow shoveling and vehicle cleaning done, bird feeders filled for my wife. Then went out and scrapped the driveway, we ended up with a nuisance amount of about 3 inches, but if not scraped away would make ice which is worse.

heading down first pass,

looking back on the first pass,

and done and headed up,

When the driveway is froze good and solid I get to run the blade going forward and scraping it quite clean and moving just a bit of dirt/gravel towards the side. But it's a minimal amount.

And done for a day or two then more small storms are forecast.
I would rather have a few good dumps and none of these little nuisance storms, takes almost as long for 2-3 inches as it does for 12-20 and done.
Probably shouldn't complain to much, nice warm cab to sit in an putt along and keep myself occupied.

Nice looking blade with all those hydraulic lines.
Mail brought sad news, one of our old friends we sent Christmas cards, the lady had passed away, her daughter answered it.

Good Evening to the GM thead!

Just had a nice late lunch/early supper and finished off the dirty rice I cooked the other day. Very good with the link sausage and the ground sausage too.

So much clouds and fog I feel like I'm lost in an old Bogart movie. Half way expect to run across Peter Lorre lurking somewhere.

You are right about misues of ambulances and EMS. I was told by the director of one ESD in our county that the most frequent call they respond to is to put an elderly person back in bed. They would sometimes get the same people calling over and over. I really hate to think about someone falling and not being able to get back in bed but I was surprised it was so common. Made me realize how lucky I am to still be mobile. But if they are sending an EMT certified crew out very frequently just to put someone back in bed it can become an abuse of resources.

I hope everyone can stay in bed nice and warm tonight!

Prayers for our Nation!

Sorry about the old friend.
Lou, I agree with you. 3 & 4" snows are a p.i.t.a. Give me a good 12 - 18" dump and be done with it for a month or so.

I am interested in the hydraulic angle on your BB.
Thanks, one of these days I'll add another diverter and get the hydraulics on the offset also.
The blade angle is on the straight thru of the diverter, the blade tilt is when the diverter is energized. I went with the diverter setup as I only have three remotes on the tractor and with one tied up on the hydraulic top link and one running up to the front for the front blade or grapple I only had one open set.

Don we will all be interested in finding out what we need to do to lead healthier lives ! Please keep us all updated !

Cholesterol/Diabetes/Weight
Loss
• Eliminate all oil- olive oil, avocado oil, etc
• Eliminate cheese and dairy
• Minimize all animal meat: < 2 x weekly, 2 oz portions
• Add 1 TBSP g.flax, chia, hempseed, walnuts daily
• Get in 2-3 cups cooked and raw greens daily (combo)
• 1-2 cup beans daily
• 30 min morning exercise in fasted state
• Consider LDL Biotect, AMLA

This was one of Dr Palmer’s slides in her presentation. I was surprised she did not eliminate animal products completely. Then I realized most people want to take baby steps and maybe by cutting back on meat they will see improvements enough to want to do more and slowly eliminate animal products. I know most people will not wake up in the hospital and search out what went wrong and do everything to correct it. At least she is not running people off by shocking them with a complete diet change. No one left the lecture before it was finished.
