good morning, 32 going to 39 cloudy

Working on household chores today.

Went to the mennonite market in town yesterday

Zion is not happy with D's new schedule. Another pillow bit the dust

Kyle use the Autel scanner. Also use a Mercedes clone scanner that came loaded on a laptop with a full complement of repair information as well. Both work well but the clone is way better

Good morning, the low temp is 7 and going to a high of 14°F. Wind ENE 8 mph. Mix of sun and cloud.

I got a text message yesterday that I've got a package to pick up at the spot where the courier drops off. Funny, I was in there for my lottery ticket not 30 minutes before. Back to town around noon today. Post office back to work and amazon return sent off.

Both goobermint pensions pay today, so it is time to pay some bills.

Other than the town run at noon, there is nothing else on the books. Back down the rabbit hole.

Have a safe day all

36 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's and that is about it. Colder air settling in for the next few days.

Should be warmer here at the farm with the MIL expected tonight. I get to brave the roads getting to the airport for pickup. That will be fun, considering it is a weekend and the holiday is upon us. Anyway....

I imagine the next few days and week or so I'll be entertained with other things.

I hope that you all have a good start to the weekend, and a great Christmas.

Merry Christmas, enjoy your time with family and friends.

Good morning TBN.
42 this morning and might make lower 50s with intermittent light rain.
Pretty good day yesterday albeit much cooler.
Went to Harbor Freight to take advantage of the winch sale. Got the 2500 for $50 out the door to put on the 4 wheeler. Been watching for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I will probably go back and get the mounting plate because it's cheaper then anything I might fabricate.
Of course rode the 4 wheeler to walk the dog plus my own steps (10k+) for walking him too. I really don't mind the walking as I am sure it is healthy but it uses up a lot of the daylight.
Puttered in the garage looking at how I want to mount the winch. I would like to mount it to the front but it will be a challenge. Otherwise I might just slap it on a 2" hitch and be done with it.
Other than that we will have to see what adventure the day holds.

Have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning
32° and overcast, high of 36, and intermittent snow showers throughout the day. Not much accumulation.

Yesterday, I got things fixed in the barn, moved hay from the hay shed to the barn, collected the trash and recycling and got it to the street, did a little bit of cleanup. Still haven’t prepared for snow.

Grandson really enjoyed the lights at Peddler’s Village.

The restaurant was disappointing at best. The service was beyond bad, between long waits, ordered items never arriving, and the lack of heat by the large window (with a great view of the lights). There was hot water baseboard under the window, but it was stone cold. DIL actually put her coat back on.

But overall it was a good time. The restaurant experience was so bad that we could laugh at it, rather than be annoyed.

Today might be the day to get the plow on the tractor and rearrange the shop so it’s backed in, just in case. Just after lunch we are supposed to officially transfer property to youngest son with us keeping a life estate. The good news is that means he gets all the bills, and we become squatters.

Looks like we will be playing music tonight, I’ll get something in the crockpot when we get back from the lawyer’s office.

Good Morning to All who Celebrate! Currently 32 going to a high of 37 with periodic snow showers here. a few flakes on the truck but nothing major.

The week that everyone tries to be a superstar at work is over, Corporate bosses have finished going around to all the branches holiday parties so now no one cares. What's the point of doing something if you can't blow hot air up the C-o-C? ;)

Today's agenda: Pick up more two stroke fuel as well as a copy of Hay Dude's Forestry Helmet if available. (This one will stop my mother from fretting) Then load up the truck with the various firewood tools, hitch the splitter to the truck, put the grapple on the tractor and be ready for tomorrow morning.

I turn another year older on Sunday, so birthday dinner then and some PTO on Monday/Tuesday to celebrate. Otherwise it will be an uneventful holiday season....hopefully.

Be well all! Stay warm and avoid all the crazies out there!

Morning all, 35 going to 38 and cloudy, calling for rain/snow.

Spent quite a bit of time chasing deer out of the front bushes. Moved the pumpkin there to across the street for them to finish eating. Should have moved it last week.

Talked to my Dad, my Uncle was over visiting. My Dad asked me where I lived etc.

Today will go out and place the driveway markers.
Took off of work today and bloodwork later.
Got up for a meeting, which got moved to January :-(

Happy birthday FWT!

Well, off to do work before the snow starts.

Be well,

Dinner on a plank.

Bought a HF winch for my ranger, and mounting plate. Never mounted. They are somewhere around here.

Ken, last time at Dad’s, he asked me where I lived.
I took way too much time going thru the Costco receipts yesterday, but I wanted to know how many of certain things we buy there. Was shocked at how many cases of water we go thru. Was amazed that number of items were almost exactly the same between the 2 years. If I counted tires as 4 items instead of 1, think it was exact.
Most items will be available at Sam’s club. Other surprise was costs for items changing. Some have gone down after covid, but some have gone up a good bit.

Guy texted he was stopping by house today to leave a little present. I found his dog in August, he lives several miles away but was in TX on vacation when I called the number on the dog tag. I was mowing with ZT, turned it off, and the dog came right up on the mower with me.

While on the subject, does anyone recommend a particular OBD2 scanner? I need one worthy of helping me figure out which airbag circuit is messed up.
Probably overkill for your situation, but I installed a ScanGauge 3 on the Promaster and it has a screen for reading OBDII error codes.

I also use an iPhone app called OBDFusion and a Carista OBDII dongle to read codes on the Vanagon. If you're using an Andorid phone there's an even more powerful app called Torque you can use. I think I paid $15 for the dongle, while the app was a free download.

Got the stiches out of my fingers yesterday, a bit early but the surgeon will be off all next week. As a result he told me to keep them bandaged with both a BandAid and some of that crinkly tape that sticks to itself to help hold the cuts together. My trip to the drug store for more BandAids and tape cost me a whopping $23. That hurt almost as much as my fingers.

Forgot to bring the old iPhone with me to FedEx it back to Apple, so had to make an extra trip. Nice day out so I didn't really mind. Drop off point was in a Walgreens, one I'd driven right by on the first trip.

Got some Christmas packages to wrap and firewood to load into canvas carriers for a trip next week. Looking like it's gonna be a little wet out on the coast, though.

TGIF gang!

36 going to 43.

Ken. I love your live deer Christmas display.

Mostly, our breeder and info I've read recommended you let your puppy grow to at least a year old before neutering.

BEF, last night I was telling my wife about your comment about the self-service attendant at Costco...she had just gotten home from Costco and we were unloading a bunch of stuff. She said she had gone through the self- service and how pleasant the lady was...even scanning everything in her cart since no one was behind her in line.

Most of the employees we see are long-time employees, some we remember from the original Price Club back in the mid-80s. I think it just depends on the person, and maybe management. Costco has indeed tightened their policies a bit, since a lot of abuse by non-members made actual members start to complain. Glad you had a good experience at Sam's.

Went to the funeral/celebration of life for one of my former bosses yesterday. She was a great boss, and it was good seeing fellow employees again after many years. I also learned that another of my bosses, and a very good friend had passed...his funeral was Monday...so sad I hadn't heard.

Need to take Della out for a longer hike today and split some firewood. My wife is heading to our granddaughter's house for 2 days of babysitting.

I have Torque and a $20 reader. Been quite happy with it. I suspect it would be lacking on the newest cars. Serves my purpose though. Just used it yesterday!

Off to Hilo town this morning. HD, a bit of shopping. Go by the steel store, have an idea how to fix my stabilizer.

Be safe
Have a great day

Well a good late morning (afternoon) all;
Interesting day yesterday went and checked over the sander to prep it for winter. Of course a dead battey and then I thought about the gas in the tank. Oh boy I never used it last year, well I'll just drain it and refill it. Dang when was the last time I got fresh gasoline. Two full cans sitting here and I don't recall when I filled them. So I poured one into the trucks tank and went to town and got 5 more gallons of non-ethanol gas in the can. So maybe today the battery will have taken a charge or it will tell me it wants to be replaced. I use so little gas in a year it's hard to keep it fresh. I do have a saw and a trimmer and a leaf bowler that take 2-stroke mix but the saw hasn't been started for at least 2 years maybe 3 since I got the battery saw. And the trimmer and blower us so little fuel it's almost none. Did get the bearings greased and the drive chain half lubed.
Diesel on the other hand I use quite a bit and keep a good reserve on hand.
Today into town to mail Christmas cards out, don't want to get them out to soon.

All stay well, get well
and
Have a Merry Christmas
