Took Della on a hike all the way around Hazel Mountain yesterday. Don't think the temps ever got out of the 20s until the very end of the trip. Lots of frost heaves on the trail and icicles hanging on branches over the river. Had to walk a fallen log on one of the river crossings...rocks were under too-fast moving water. No other fools on the trail all day.

Found an interesting old homesite off trail a short distance. Had sort of an odd double stone wall basement/foundation/retaining wall, with an opening at one corner for access. Never seen an old homestead ruins like it. I'll post pix.

Phil, that new lathe your looking at is beautiful! I would love to have your old lathe, I just don’t know how much use I would get out of it ! Are you able to use your old chucks on the new lathe ? Or did you have to buy replacements with your new machine ?

Hope to get a long walk in after it warms a bit and later this afternoon we are going with the grands on a train ride in Thomaston ! Should be fun !

Tomorrow morning I have to be over the FD early to start cooking breakfast for the children’s Christmas Party ! I was there yesterday to wrap gifts !

I was in Paul’s previous Prius and was surprised by the amount of room. Not sure if Prime is smaller. If I was commuting to work, I’d consider one.

I was surprised by Lou’s comment as well. Most people are shocked how much room there is.

Good morning! 64˚ heading to the upper 70s with W and S and E winds. Today will be a good day to spread the mulch in the hedge beds. Yesterday it rained all day and we only got .03". I worked on sealing a few small holes in the shower (stone tile), floor (travertine), and countertop (granite).

Just 2 more weeks (2 days) of PT. I'll be finished before Christmas.

Morning all, 25 going up to 36 and sunny, cold dog walk, but she loves the cold.
Got paperwork done in town and wife did her shopping for non-essentials
Talk about hating shopping...

Today hope to get the light balls up and maybe dinner at the new Thai place. Not too expensive and we don't go out much.

Mini-buck has gone from one to two points, but still hanging out with his sisters.

BIL had a Prius for a while, really good interior design to maximize space, He is tall and fit easily with the dogs in back.

Good Morning
Today started out at 14° supposed to make it to 36 under a clear sky.

Yesterday started with taking the Lexus to the dealer for inspection, all systems worked as they should, it was very comfortable and quite powerful. The only issue was that once I got there I realized that the registration and insurance cards were expired. That meant that they couldn’t do a state inspection and issue the stickers. So after some discussion, they agreed to perform the inspection, and provide me with their findings rather an issue the stickers. All that to have them let me know it needed wiper blades. So I made arrangements to leave it at the dealership, and shook hands on the deal.
Now I just have to wait for the attorney/executor to transfer the title.

my grandfather had a small guest bathroom made out of green travertine.

I wonder if they were military, for sure, no one is talking.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 7:15AM. Rain showers this morning with overcast skies during the afternoon hours. High near 60F. S winds shifting to WNW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 60%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

When I was car shopping last year I drove a '22 Prius and also thought it had plenty of interior room. Didn't at all care for the styling though, especially with the more streamlined '23s on the way. But since the car would be spending most of its life sitting, I decided it would be better to stick with an ICE car, and ended up with a Camry. Best car I've ever had, and 45 MPG on the highway doesn't hurt, either.

All this talk about huge drones on the east coast reminds me I have yet to take my mini drone up at the new place. But it's directly in the flight path of the local airport, and I have yet to figure out how or who to call for clearance. It would be nice to take some aerial "before" shots before I start tearing up the landscaping.

Sitting here at my buddy's house with an electric blanket and a purring cat in my lap. Nice way to start the day.

Good report from Sophie’s Ophthalmologist, pics of healing look great. Scheduled for eye exam for glasses. Back in 2 months.
Picked up some beef short ribs. Will be going in oven for low and slow cook.

Wx not looking to be a productive outdoor kinda day. I’ll adjust.

had a nice breakfast at landlady's home on her beautiful estate nearby.
She is doing oral chemo and it wears her out pretty badly but she is doing her best.

I gave her an inexpensive but bright flashlight that also came with a bonus black light flashlight, little mini
thing. Black light shows blood stains and stains from pets. Good gizmo for a landlord to own...she was delighted.
