Well, Coco made a new friend this morning...Pepe Le Pew II. I admittedly didn't do a good job of patrolling before letting her out...paying for it now. I gave her a pre-sunrise bath outside with oatmeal shampoo...all we had. So, not so bad, especially since I've never minded the smell of skunk too much, as long as not real strong.

Thomas, we have chipmunks come on our porch each morning to collect sunflower seeds and peanuts in the shell. This morning it was able to put 3 full peanuts into its pouch. We actually have one with a noticeably shorter tail than the others that we call short-tail.

Not good way to start the day for Coco.

So name short tail made it below the Mason Dixon line.:thumbsup:

BEF, I'm still worrying. Because you still have some climbing to do. My GDO installers had to come back and add some extra bracing to triangulate the motor. It was too loosy goosy prior.

Wng, I've always heard to use Dawn detergent on skunk spray. P. U.

I would love to get 8 hours a night. Life, and having to get up to go P, messes it up to the point that I'm lucky to get 6. I've read in some medical writings that, the older you get, the less sleep you can live with. But I've also read that people who get regular sleep, and a good amount, will live longer.

Thought of a way to hold on with one hand and hold tools with the other. Took less than an hour. All from the comfort of a 10 ft ladder on a 12 ft ceiling.

Next is reinforcing the door to install the door bracket. Will have to chop some angle iron.

My Genie openers specifically instructed me to cross the mounting brackets and bolt them together where they cross to form an X, then bolt them to the head unit.

Straps you cross, angle iron you physically can’t. You straight drop them per instructions. And the angle iron supplied with the opener does not meet their specs in the manual. It was thinner, and way too short to use.

There’s no swinging motion, but I might put a 45° between the drop to ensure they can’t swing.

.

I do have to put a couple wires on top of the track for the safety sensor and button. But I’m only up 3 steps for that.

Hardest part left is cutting a side off the end of angle iron to overlap per door instructions.

This is only an 8ft high door.

I still have to install a chain operator on the 10 ft door.

Good evening all. 75F for the start, overcast, and windy. Clouds broke up early afternoon, then thicken back up about 4:30, rain showers began about 6:30 over at 7:30 periods of heavy rain, thunder, radar estimates between .3 and .6 inch of rain. High temp 86F HI 91. slept til 8 and slow start to bike ride, wind 20+ mph during ride :(. Back out to the wood pile for more splitting. Should have enough wood for winter. Another 10 hours and should get the rest done. Need to install garbage disposal and trip to bike shop.
Don interesting control, sounds like it is working well for you.
Randy, 6-8 hr/ day including nap. Snoring ( get run out of bedroom,) can't get back to sleep if overnight pee is late, Day schedule prevents nap.
As long as the Cardinal are playing ...
Buckeye, sorry about the abused package, nice work on garage door opener.
Jay glad you are home safe, the worst part of a trip like that is the return to reality on the food intake :(
Billy understand about Coco, Scooter will make haste to get skunked, even though he hates baths and skunking requires multiple baths :confused2::eek:
prayers for all.
