mpham, I hear you about hating shopping, especially this time of year.

Went to town for haircut, then chipotle for lunch. THen picked up a 92-5/8" stud at Lowes. Then remembered I needed gas in the truck, and Costco a good $.30 cheaper a gallon than up my way, so drive back down thru town to get that. Forget about going in, way too packed for me to try to park the big truck there. A couple lights, I had to wait for 2 turns of the traffic light to get thru, just too much traffic for me.

Got the stud installed in my unfinished room upstairs, then moved the light switch from behind the door to the proper side (design change after the room was wired, decided door needed to go other way). Long overdue project. actually need to pick up 8-12 more 2x4's to box out around duct work that goes up in the corner of the room, then I could finish the room. Those GRK screws sure did draw the warped stud into place, picked the best I could find in a limited selection. Only one cut on my finger doing all that.

Good Afternoon Lou,
While it can be a usable form of transportation for many people it has a long way to go to exceed or even come close to the capabilities of petroleum vehicles.
That said I think it will be a good vehicle for her driving, mostly sort trips and low mileage drives. Most of her round trips are 15-45 miles so it will be good for those.
Lou, that about says it all ! If your getting the vehicle for shopping trips and short runs it’s great ! But as a primary vehicle, the technology and infrastructure is just not there yet ! I could see a hybrid vehicle but that’s as far as I would go with where we are at today ! 😉

Good (Saturday) morning. Overnight Low of 14.3C and it's presently 22.1C, fairly clear & calm.

Firstly, another email from my Aunt that my Sister was, indeed, discharged from the hospital and is home. Yay! Once again, thank you for all of the thoughts & prayers.

Yesterday I did mow around the house/driveway/front paddock, followed by a wander with the string trimmer.

Oh, and I received notification that my application for OAP (including the 'all important' Seniors concession card = reduced power, Council rates, etc...) has been approved and will begin on my BD. Yay! [again]

Not much on for today, around "Wagtail Park" at any rate. I've got a Christmas gathering to attend this arvo @ 1430. 'Tis the Season.

That's about it, take care all.

That’s what I like about the plug in Prius. No charge, No problem. Just drive on gasoline, and at 70 mpg that’s not real painful.

Which prime do you have? I’m looking at 44 mile range for a prime if only running on battery.

That’s the one. My lifetime mileage (gas consumption) over 40k miles is close to 200mpg because so many trips are all electric. Even if you drive like a maniac, it’s hard to get less than 50mpg burning gas in normal Hybrid mode. I’m usually around 70mpg.

I looked at the RAV 4 and was extremely disappointed in the room or rather lack of for the driver or front seat passenger, and I got into a Prius one time and that was enough for me. I pretty good sized and stiff they just didn't work for me.
