Morning all!
36 going to a heavy rain filled 58. Looks like high wind gust forecasted also. Will have to keep an eye on the bulkhead as it has a tendency to leak into the basement with this type of weather.
Off to the eye doc for testing this morning. Having my eyes dilated so the wife will drive. After that we will head to the store to see what sold {if any} and rearrange or swap out some stuff.
Finished up the tree project. Waiting for the customer to come pick it up:

Working on a few more ideas for the store. Quick sellers pay the rent!
Here are two examples. I think the longer one will be it.

This tree will be a gift. Was playing with colors.

That's it for now.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good morning, the low is 33 and going down to 30°F for a high. Wind NW 3 mph. Periods of snow or rain. They are threatening us with about 1.5". Not enough to plow.

Drew, now you know why my tire chains don't come off unless I break one.

Ron, the Hawk looks like it is shopping for the little fur ball that lives there. It s a nice picture of it at any rate.

Today is an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

Agree its beautiful but It can be dangerous. We just lost 3 up on Mt Cook in the last week
Jim, didn't you say you mostly bike now, and don't do much tramping?

One of the hiking apps I use is FarOut...they cover several major trails in NZ, including an 1800+ mile one. Of course, AllTrails has hundreds there. I was looking at a couple tracks in Mount Aspiring NP.

Ron, I love my handheld Makita air inflator. Hope yours works well. Really nice for smaller tires where you can take it to them.
I used to use the one that came with a portable car battery jumper, but that was heavy.
It doesn't turn off automatically once it reaches the set limit, only downside I see but pretty accurate when I doublechecked with other tire gauges.
But if you have the battery, wonderful. Not sure how much cfm you get for 25 bucks. I love reading the very fine print on duty cycles.
all those little air compressors make an unpleasant noise to me, hard on my bad ear. The only really quiet one is the Makita pancake compressor I have in my garage. That just purrs. I don't use it as much anymore with the nice portable one.

My Makita did a great job of topping off the rv tires.
but it did make enough noise I couldn't use it early in the morning in a quiet rv park.
most folks were asleep when I was up.

haircut this afternoon at 4pm, going to get wet, need a hat
$25 and a 3 year warranty. Sure beats $100+. Noise is lower than any of the of air compressors I have. One of the attachments is a blower nozzle. Used it to blow off drill press metal chips. Did a good job of that.

good morning, 57 and raining surprisingly warm

Walked Cody in the rain and dried him off.

Pain in the foot limited the steps yesterday. Looks to be better today

Tried out the repaired 261 CM chainsaw and it started easily after a few pulls to prime it. It is 10 years old

61 outside right now, that should be the high for today. Wind is picking up and rain on and off. Storm is moving up from the South East.

Lull in the work week, trying to play catchup and report on real jobs. Is busy work and not fun.

Went with wife for errands yesterday, that blew up the whole day. So not sure what to get into today. I know I have more estates paperwork to get prepared. Sigh...

Hope all have a great day. Be safe. It's hump day!

Good Morning,
Ct, 40 to start going to 60 ! Foggy and raining now, and Kathleen had bought tickets for a Broadway play in NYC , for our sister in law and herself ! Tough day to be in NYC with heavy rain and wind !
Hope it goes well for her ! 🙏

I’ve been given my orders for the day, vacuuming the whole house and wrap some gifts for the grands ! 😉 Can’t do much outside so I guess I can live with that ! 😀

What app are you guys talking about on virtual hiking ? That sounds really interesting, especially in NZ alps ! My hiking expeditions are probably pretty mundane to what your looking at ! 😉

Phil, very nice job on those ornaments!

Lou those chains and tires look like they will do a great job , especially with all that weight!

Hope all have a great day ! Looks like work tomorrow for me ! 🙏

Good morning TBN.
55 and wet this morning. Rain should taper off around lunch as the temps drop. Probably at our high for the day now! 40s later 20s tonight. :(
Rained all day almost yesterday so didn't really do much. Having a hard time motivating beyond walking the dog. Probably more of the same today.
Haven't looked yet but will probably need to take the tractor across the river to get out. Sure wish FEMA would show up.

Have a great and safe day!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 31° with cloudy skies. Heading to 33° with cloudy skies. Weather is going to get cold for a couple of days. Made a trip to HD. Got a Ryobi battery operated inflator. Tried it out. Works good. Just set desired pressure and let it run. Is on sale for $25. Neighbor took a vacation day. Took our 22 rifles and pistols into woods and shot off a few rounds from each. Sassy took me for a walk later in the day.
Hawk landed on front porch eavestrough. Cutting off sun light at my computer. So I took a photo shot.

Morning all;
A balmy 41F this morning supposed to get to 51F with rain all day long. Then a possibility of snow showers early morning tomorrow, with a forecast high of 34F and 29F for a high on Friday and Saturday. All of the snow we had is gone and it's soggy out.
Not much on the agenda for today maybe a bit of grocery shopping then start some pea soup with the ham bone from Christmas.

All stay safe and get well

Morning all, 60 going to 63 and misty, more rain, we need it.
Hearing slowly coming back.

Drew great news

Today if I get time, need to fill on the Forms for Financial aid for my son.
WE already know we won't get aid, but need to fill in the forms in order to start talking to collegs about grants etc. Might be more painful than my ear today

Be well,

view from my desk all day yesterday.

Good Morning
62° and drizzling. That’s the high for the day before it gets cold and windy. It’s been raining for over a day, but we have gotten less than 1/2”. The good news is that at that low rate, it all soaks into the ground instead of running off.

Yesterday was slow paced, but got a lot of small tasks accomplished. Starting with updating the databases and retrieving my hat from the little plane. We started moving artwork from the house into the old folks home, starting with our Quaker marriage certificate, followed by some oil paintings. Here’s one of Emily, Zoe’s predecessor.

You can see what a nice day it was outside as well.
Started a fire around 4 and sat in front of it until bedtime.
Drew’s neighbors accepted our offer on the Lexus, it goes to the dealer for state inspection on Friday. Not sure when the sale will actually happen as it’s in an estate.

Today I need to modify a cart for the 285 amp MIG welder that is on its way here. It’s too big for the cart that I have, but not by a lot.
I’ve got a lot of coins, like buckets full of them in the house, I’ve got to get them into liftable containers so I can carry them downstairs and take the to the bank to use their coin counter. The kids are taking a pool on how many dollars they will add up to.
Then it’s back to hanging art on the walls, and cleaning out yesterday’s ashes from the fireplace.
Airport Authority meeting tonight.
I should probably add getting the driveway markers installed and the blade on the tractor to that list. No plowable snow in the forecast, but I hate to be caught napping.

I have a big jug of pennies I need to take in to the coin machine.

snagglepuss is outside looking in. But it's 60 deg out and she is under the covered side porch.

Good Morning!!!! 44F @ 7:45AM. Cloudy. High 67F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.

Last time I checked, neither Chase or Bank of America would accept loose change, Paul. I'll be darned if I'll pay the coin counter machine at the grocery store, or roll it myself. So it continues to accumulate for my heirs.

Chico lost it's most precious landmark earlier this morning when the Bidwell Mansion burned to the ground. This follows when a vandal cut down the historic Hooker oak, a giant of a tree that used to stand in the courtyard of the mansion. Seems like we can't have anything nice anymore that some looney comes along and destroys.

Fingers are a little sore this morning, but less stiff and typing is almost back to normal. Still some numbness, though. I got a few small jobs done around the house yesterday, but the most strenuous was unpacking and laying out a queen size camping mattress for the van. The instructions said it needs at least 5 days to decompress, and to do it outside. Glad there's no rain in the forecast.

Not sure what I'll get into today, but the new phone is supposed to be delivered. Fingers crossed the data transfer goes smoothly.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

65°F AND .51 inches rain.

Made good progress on a smallish project yesterday.we have an 8 ft wide area between the back of kitchen box and the garage box. The roofs overlap. Originally it was just an open area but we soon found that didn’t work due to how the rains came, hence adding some patio doors at the ends. But open above. A great help but a wind driven rain would come over the top. Yesterday I started closing in the top with clear polycarbonate panels. About half done. Should finish today. Today’s panels not only get cut to length but have to match slope of the roof. Luckily only 2 sections about 6 ft each.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
