Good (Sunday) morning. Overnight Low of 1.3C (Yep, 'cold snap') and it's presently 9.6C (heading to 13C), mostly sunny with a gentle breeze. There was 0.9mm in the gauge @ 0700... I even received a 'smattering' of pea-sized hail yesterday arvo.

As per usual, I'm off to Church in about a half hour and then the rest of the day is His.

walked down the hill and ate an early dinner at the casino restaurant, which was pretty limited, but tonight was prime rib, I had a small one with home made mashed potatoes and it was marvelous. About five ounces net of beef and I'm stuffed. And as a bonus, it was BOGO, and I took home a chicken sandwich for tomorrow free.

Morning all, 70 going to 85 and the sun is up.

Today is our anniversary, snuck out earlier and got some flowers/plants.

Yesterday just did pool and yard maintenance.

Watched what will be the last Grand Tour on Prime. They were in Zimbabwe , which was one of my favorite trips, even if a hippo did attack us while canoeing the Zambezi.

Today might take a last dip in the pool. Will probably close it soon as it is filling with leaves.

Drew - if you want fancy high priced market in California try reEwhon market , Like Whole foods on steroids. I had a few of their pre-made sandwiches and they were really good.

well I made it to the casino.
Didn't have a choice, you had to walk through it to get to the
restaurant.
and if I had wanted to push a few buttons for five bucks and leave, fine, but
no way, they still have smoking here. Yuk, like walking into an ash tray.
I hustled through the room...it was pretty low rent.

front of casino is a gas station and a lot of fairly rough woodsman types stopping in for gas, junk food, pulling every kind of motorized equipment.
Every nationality and a lot of tattoos. America on the move.

would like to get away from sound of hvac. It was still 85 here a little while ago. Then temps will drop like crazy, and tomorrow night going to be 33 here. The cold is coming down along with high winds tomorrow afternoon.

Good evening all. 70ºF for the start, mostly cloudy sky, light breeze. Light wind, gusts moderate to brisk, Sky went to overcast early the cleared to partly cloudy, and high temp was 91ºF, HI 98ºF. Made coffee, then bike ride, 65 Miles overall time 5:11, moving time 4:20. Lunch Nap, grill brats for dinner.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 56° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 82° with sunny skies. Washed Mule yesterday. It had a good collection of dirt/mud on it. Enjoyed visit with Niece and her husband. Visited a cider mill and did at local parks nature center. Need to do some pond maintenance today. Then NASCAR in afternoon.

Good morning, the low is 62 and going to a high of 81°F. Wind SSE 3 mph. Sunny!

BB is moved, the raspberry canes that were growing along side the foundation are removed. The planter box that was over three cats graves is removed and disposed of. (It was falling apart) The 2.5' diameter tree stump is still in place, it wouldn't budge. More Epsom salts and let it overwinter another year. I found oil Shell Rotella T-4 10W30, Canadian Tire has 78 gallons of it. $51.99 ea I am going to change the engine antifreeze today, that I have here. The coolant capacity is 2 U.S. gallons and I have one gallon of 'long life' (good for 10 years) here. I will drop into the garage and score another gallon on the day I pedal my butt into town to get the high test gas.

We got the 'special occasion' menus figured out right up to New Years day. CDN Thanksgiving = ham, U.S. Thanksgiving = whatever we want that is cheap, Christmas = a big roasted chicken, New Years day = roast beef.

We are going to see if we can get whole pineapples here in town yet. They are available in North Bay, but Junior said they looked pretty crappy, (almost rotten). I love pineapple, so I think the pineapple tea will be a good thing.

I took advantage of the creek being so dry...I hand shoveled damp sand out of it and into my FEL 6' bucket...4 full loads. Dumped two buckets into my target backstop, and hand spread two into low spots on my woods trail...had to do some lopping to get there. Sore back today.

78 individual one Imperial gallon jugs @ $51.99 ea. They actually hold 5 litres, so just over 1 gallon each.
4.54 litres in one imperial gallon.

Kyle- regarding gas prices, a gallon in NV has been $4.50/gal +/- for years. Add about .50c to a dollar a gallon if over the State line in CA.

Regarding Cabelas in Verdi/Reno, some people also recommend Scheels. HUGE outdoor/sport/gun store with HUGE aquarium. Did I mention a ferris wheel inside just as you walk in? And a biplane suspended above the fishing section? Take Vista blvd. exit off I-80- it is right by the freeway.

Regarding cat houses, yes they still exist in Nevada. Shari's in Pahrump, NV is quite popular. At least I am "told" that from reliable sources!

BEF- good catch on the CA State line behind Drew's campground in Verdi, NV. Funny story, there is a small building just over the line in CA. In the back of the campground. It sells CA lottery tickets. So when the prize gets up to mega-millions, the campground and freeway is backed up sometimes for miles with people from Reno wanting to drive over and buy a ticket.

Yesterday I replaced the dusk to dawn light that got clobbered last winter by a falling oak branch. It's on a metal pole with a control box on the pole about waist high. The control box had #12 wires, black white green. OK. Wires at the top of the pole were #10, black and white only. That was the first oddity. Hmmm. I could barely reach the fixture on top of the 18 foot pole while standing on a 12 ft ladder using the pole for balance. Had to be v-e-r-y careful. After wiring, I flipped the breaker and the LED light glowed but did not light up. Hmmm. Went up the ladder to check it, grabbed the metal pole for balance, and felt tingling. Uh oh. Touched my meter probe to the metal pole and it was energized with 120v. Ahhh. When the falling branch hit the fixture, it caused the wire insulation all the way at the top to be chafed where it was not visible. Not a good combo with a metal pole. All works now and the LED even lights up.
