Good Morning,
Ct,59 to start going to 73. We had a little rain last night, and it looks like slow clearing this morning!

Mostly, I never got the grass cut yesterday and I’m hoping it dries enough by early afternoon to cut. We are leaving for the beach about 3 or so, we can check into the beach house by 4pm.

Sounds like some of you guys had a pretty violent storm come through your area, especially when Mike is talking about “calling all chainsaws” !

I'm sure there will be beer mug exercises for the shoulder, the trick will be trying to take a sip when the arm is in the up position during wrist tilt
Ha Ha, sounds like me Don ! 😉Get well soon !

Drew, glad to hear that your trucking along even in the face of adversity! 🙏

Not a great day to head to the beach but we will try and make the best of it ! The kids don’t care what the weather looks like outside! 😂

Hope all have a great Friday !🙏

Blood work revealed high Calcium is back not good more doctors.
Sorry to learn that Buppies. Less doctors is good, more doctors not so much.

50F headed to 90F here today.

Contractor's two workers got 14 postholes dug yesterday for new cedar fence to keep Rigby in. Then they "ramset" affixed 2x4 cedar onto steel poles, then set the poles in the hole and filled with 1 1/2 bags of concrete. They should finish the remaining holes today.

Probably should have waited until job end, but went out and gave each worker $100 cash and said thanks. They were both sweating quite a bit and drinking lots of water-- maybe that took some of the edge off. I hope.

Everyone have a great day !!!

We are camping in PA this fall with the parents of our friend in Lapeer. Their son is around our oldest kids age, just had first child. Our oldest has been to MI to visit them.

Our goal for this trip is Oshkosh WI to visit some old friends that lived here some 30 yrs ago, then moved back to WI. Would like to go up over the lake, but not sure about Oct weather.
Nov 1997, right after I finished building the house, we flew to Chicago and drove up to visit them, when they lived in Milwaukee. We were in snow on that trip. I can’t find any pictures from that trip, yet I remember having pictures.

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 6:00AM. Areas of fog early, then partly cloudy this afternoon. High 71F. Winds W at 10 to 15 mph.

Glad to read that things are settling down, Drew.

Might want to look at something like this?

Yes, I bought something very similar. The 240VAC on the back porch only goes to the hot tub now, but need a small breaker panel to add the compressor and RV hookup safely.

Glad you made it safely through surgery, Don. Best wishes for a speedy and painless recovery.

Dug out the spot where the step outside the garage man door used to be yesterday morning, and that meant a late trip for groceries and concrete. And a late lunch, which let me get the concrete poured into the hole by skipping dinner. Been a long time since I mixed concrete in a wheelbarrow, and hope it's a long time 'till I have to do it again. Kinda missed my old cement mixer, cranky that it was. Nine 60# bags got it done, and my reward was a soak in the hot tub to work out the resulting kinks.

Gonna wash the car this morning after sweeping up the redwood needles on the back porch. Messy trees, those redwoods. Not sure what else I'll get into.

TGIF! Hope everyone enjoys their long Labor Day weekend!

Morning all, 66 going to 74 and light rain.
Have the day off, watered the plants, just to make sure it rained today.

Need to cleanup the saws and some other busy type indoor tasks today.

Glad not too much damage Ron and you got power back.

Scotty and Paul, cool you guys got to meet up.

Don - glad surgery went well, heal quickly and well.

Drew - transfer switch install party at your place when you get back :)
Glad things are settling down.

RNG - Sounds like good progress now that your not constantly hauling stuff around.

Be well,

Good Morning
65° and overcast, but no rain. We got less than 1/10” overnight.

Yesterday was pretty much consumed with my trip to CT, which was a good time. Scott met us at the airport and took us out for some excellent pizza.
It was great to meet him and have some conversation. I think he was surprised about how tight it is getting into the cockpit, planes are definitely designed to make the people in the back comfy. The cockpit is comfortable once you get in your seat though.

Today is off to Portland ME, then I’m done for a while.

The stone masons were busy in my absence yesterday though, so were the tile guys.

The area in Tyvek gets cedar siding.
I forgot to get tile pictures.

Nice and cloudy and cool 71 after last night's t-storms...the thunder was like listening to different armaments blasting different sounds just outside the window...even the local TV weatherman commented about how load and unusual it was. Heading to 84.

The nearly 2.5 inches of rain knocked out our internet...has happened before after a big rain. I guess the phone company has a leak underground somewhere. I spent 28 minutes on the phone at 5am going through automated menus and then talking with a friendly man in India, I presume. Ultimately, I satisfied him that I knew how to troubleshoot, and do diagnostics on the router/modem, and was awarded a trouble ticket with a dispatch time of: any time, all day on Sept 5. Wow!

At least we didn't get the wind damage here, rip.

I had in the back of my mind that it might be back up by noon, on its own. It is up, and was by only 9:30.

Rip, congrats on the cool milkhouse. So much work makes you feel good. What are you using to value the coins? We have my FIL's collection that we need to do the same. Wondering about using the internet...when I was a kid, we used the "blue book", and then the "red book."
got some cedars on my VA property, not sure if big enough to make any lumber out of, but want some of them down.
I've used many for fence posts and other projects.

Plow, real nice looking fence, etc. Should do the job.

Scott, cool pix...I bet you wanted to fire up that Citation.

Don, glad the surgery went well. I see you managed a few Caps already.

Drove to Virginia Beach to visit with my mom in the rehab facility yesterday. She is doing well. Took much longer than normal...they had closed the east bound Hampton to Norfolk tunnel as they are doing construction of the 3rd parallel tube and trestle...a real mess...so had to take the Newport News to Suffolk tunnel, and then the Portsmouth to Norfolk tunnel to get there. Since I was therefore running late, I did a conference call with the med team...it even held up in the tunnel.

At least it was back to normal on the way home. Saw 3 aircraft carriers in port...unusual to see that many...and a huge container ship approaching port with a very high superstructure...not sure it could make it under any Chesapeake Bay bridges unless they can lower it. It may have just been an optical illusion.

Good Morning Again,
I think he was surprised about how tight it is getting into the cockpit, planes are definitely designed to make the people in the back comfy
Paul, directed me how to shoe horn myself into the cockpit, yes it was a bit tricky ! But definitely worth the effort !😀

Packing the truck up this morning !
Kathleen , we have too many toys for the kids !😂 Hopefully we have room for our clothes ! 😉

71°F and .51 inches rain.

Off to Hilo this morning. Sophie has ophthalmologist followup and we have a few errands.

New owners picked up the Spark yesterday. Nice younger couple, fireman and his wife. Downgrading from what he describes as his unreliable Volt. His wife’s drives a very nice Tesla.

Guys got hammered in H&F, but we had fun.
And Sophie’s stuffed cabbage was excellent, but I would prefer beef/pork filler.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
