Almost done running the drip irrigation.... shortened the time per zone this round, anticipating possible rain tomorrow. If it doesn't materialize, I can always give another drink on the weekend.
Out of the 200 Asiatic lily bulbs planted last fall, only about 10 didn't come up. We have more in the greenhouse for replacement, but have to find out what color is needed.
We did a row of alternating colors.... so need to see what color is missing. Probably wasn't the best idea, but at the initial time of planting, it sounded good.
A bunch of trees survived the winter in the greenhouse. 56 Siberian Elm trees (about 16-24"), 25 Bulgarian Black Pines (3-6"), and 24 Forsythia shrubs (8"-12"). Need to transplant them into bigger containers. Maybe this weekend. Hopefully we will have enough containers.
Cleaned the pond this morning, I think the pump is giving up the smoke.... only about half the output than previously. This was a "used replacement" that I had on the shelf.... the original one quit last year. Found one on sale at half price.... might get here possibly by Friday or Saturday, so might have a project replacing it this weekend.
The birds are really being pigs with wings.... bought a 50 lb bag of seed last week -- it's half gone. I'm not kidding... I filled a feeder at 10 this morning, by 14:00, they have emptied it.....
Pigs that fly.....
Another bird is still being persistent trying to build a nest under the back porch roof. I clear out the nesting materials 4-5 times a day for the past week..... it just won't get the message. The bird gets startled and flies over to the hobby shack porch roof .... I'll let it build there.... nope, doesn't like that roof.... (basically the same identical construction, about 25' away). That roof even has big trees on both sides. It keeps trying to build 6' away from our back door.... stupid bird.
