Waiting for wife to wake up before deciding the day. Mountains or cutting firewood?

Got a little seat time yesterday bringing a pallet up to the house to unload onto the porch rack. Burned some last night. This white oak is sensational. Not often I can say that about my firewood, but after the last pallet, mostly splits from a big sassafras, and a half rotten red oak, this stuff is great. I like the easy way sassafras burns, but it goes fast and doesn't leave any big coals. It has a real pretty grain, too.
Sassafras wood smells nice, too

Good morning! 60˚F light rain at .01" per hour we now have .04". On-Off light rain today with high of only 63˚.

PT this morning and maybe an attempt to go shopping this afternoon, but not for gift cards.

Gift cards around here are getting a lot of bad publicity as they are being tampered with and many have reported the receiver reports a 0 balance on the cards and no remedy to get money back unless you are ready for exhausting proof.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw too badly…).

19.2F allegedly approaching 60F today.

Trip to perio went well, did some shopping, went to Mast General a store and loaded up on specialty hard candy. Mrs spotted a sweater that looked very similar to one I inherited that is probably close to 70 years old now— yes, it was indeed also a Pendleton. . . But you could tell that it was probably 40% lighter in weight than my vintage one…

went to the hardcore camping store and got a couple things there too, including several packages of DaTrex Lifeboat Ration packs — perfect for keeping in the vehicles for dire emergencies. I can now rotate out the old packages for hunting/hiking snacking. They are actually better-tasting than they sound. Also made a stop in the hoidy-toidy doggie bakery and picked up a birthday biscuit cake for Harry, and some other treats for Bailey (who will also share a piece of cake), plus a new sweater since Harry’s old one is getting small and bedraggl…

The Publix supermarket had a flash-sale on prime rib, we got the meat guy to cut us a four-bone and leave all the fat on. $78 dollars for an 11lb chunk of cow! Admittedly is is Select grade, but grass-fed/grass-finished Angus AA Prime of comparable size is over $200!

Leo it was a good day shopping, and the perio gave a good report. Depending on how everything looks at next cleaning in April, I may or may not need one final touch-up procedure, but she was well-pleased with how the procedure healed up overall.

Today will be a trip with dogs to woodlot — Senior dog has been giving us serious grudge for the last two days about it being so long since the last trip up…

Good morning, the low is 7 and the high to 19°F. Wind ENE 8 mph. Sunny!

I am back on my regular sleep schedule, to bed at midnight and up at 6.

While I was out yesterday, I looked at the driveways I plow and they will stay the way they are until after Christmas.
Christmas day the temp is supposed to go to 40°F with rain.

Thomas, if you take the number of people at work and divide them into the number of cupcakes minus your four, then subtract 20% for those that for whatever reason don't have any, should give you a grand total of 21 for the ride home. (I am assuming there are ten co-workers). 😇 :giggle::ROFLMAO:

Have a safe day all

Question: If you give a gift card and it's one that has been tampered with, or your gift card gets stollen out of the mail do you replace it or does the receiver get nothing this year?

One year I sent a hundred dollar check to my niece for HS graduation and she never received the check. It cost $30 to cancel it, I gambled and did not cancel it just sent her another check, which she got, and the other check never was cashed.

looking forward to my new stereo gear arriving today.

until then, I'm working on my smallest sound system, and one of the smallest in the world.
Twenty years ago I bought a Christmas tie that played Jingle Bells. After 15 years the battery died.
Decided it was time to replace it. Corrosion on battery, need to spray cleaner and deoxit in there, and replace the battery
the speaker is really strange, only having to reproduce a very narrow band of tinkle tinkle noises.
But there's a song in there, plus an amp, and a speaker. Well more like a tiny chip with most of that on there.

really don't want to buy a twelve pack of hearing aid batteries. Will see if I can snitch one off my 95 yo MIL Christmas Eve.
