Waiting for wife to wake up before deciding the day. Mountains or cutting firewood?

Got a little seat time yesterday bringing a pallet up to the house to unload onto the porch rack. Burned some last night. This white oak is sensational. Not often I can say that about my firewood, but after the last pallet, mostly splits from a big sassafras, and a half rotten red oak, this stuff is great. I like the easy way sassafras burns, but it goes fast and doesn't leave any big coals. It has a real pretty grain, too.
Sassafras wood smells nice, too

Good morning! 60˚F light rain at .01" per hour we now have .04". On-Off light rain today with high of only 63˚.

PT this morning and maybe an attempt to go shopping this afternoon, but not for gift cards.

Gift cards around here are getting a lot of bad publicity as they are being tampered with and many have reported the receiver reports a 0 balance on the cards and no remedy to get money back unless you are ready for exhausting proof.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw too badly…).

19.2F allegedly approaching 60F today.

Trip to perio went well, did some shopping, went to Mast General a store and loaded up on specialty hard candy. Mrs spotted a sweater that looked very similar to one I inherited that is probably close to 70 years old now— yes, it was indeed also a Pendleton. . . But you could tell that it was probably 40% lighter in weight than my vintage one…

went to the hardcore camping store and got a couple things there too, including several packages of DaTrex Lifeboat Ration packs — perfect for keeping in the vehicles for dire emergencies. I can now rotate out the old packages for hunting/hiking snacking. They are actually better-tasting than they sound. Also made a stop in the hoidy-toidy doggie bakery and picked up a birthday biscuit cake for Harry, and some other treats for Bailey (who will also share a piece of cake), plus a new sweater since Harry’s old one is getting small and bedraggl…

The Publix supermarket had a flash-sale on prime rib, we got the meat guy to cut us a four-bone and leave all the fat on. $78 dollars for an 11lb chunk of cow! Admittedly is is Select grade, but grass-fed/grass-finished Angus AA Prime of comparable size is over $200!

Leo it was a good day shopping, and the perio gave a good report. Depending on how everything looks at next cleaning in April, I may or may not need one final touch-up procedure, but she was well-pleased with how the procedure healed up overall.

Today will be a trip with dogs to woodlot — Senior dog has been giving us serious grudge for the last two days about it being so long since the last trip up…

Good morning, the low is 7 and the high to 19°F. Wind ENE 8 mph. Sunny!

I am back on my regular sleep schedule, to bed at midnight and up at 6.

While I was out yesterday, I looked at the driveways I plow and they will stay the way they are until after Christmas.
Christmas day the temp is supposed to go to 40°F with rain.

Thomas, if you take the number of people at work and divide them into the number of cupcakes minus your four, then subtract 20% for those that for whatever reason don't have any, should give you a grand total of 21 for the ride home. (I am assuming there are ten co-workers). 😇 :giggle::ROFLMAO:

Have a safe day all

Question: If you give a gift card and it's one that has been tampered with, or your gift card gets stollen out of the mail do you replace it or does the receiver get nothing this year?

One year I sent a hundred dollar check to my niece for HS graduation and she never received the check. It cost $30 to cancel it, I gambled and did not cancel it just sent her another check, which she got, and the other check never was cashed.

looking forward to my new stereo gear arriving today.

until then, I'm working on my smallest sound system, and one of the smallest in the world.
Twenty years ago I bought a Christmas tie that played Jingle Bells. After 15 years the battery died.
Decided it was time to replace it. Corrosion on battery, need to spray cleaner and deoxit in there, and replace the battery
the speaker is really strange, only having to reproduce a very narrow band of tinkle tinkle noises.
But there's a song in there, plus an amp, and a speaker. Well more like a tiny chip with most of that on there.

really don't want to buy a twelve pack of hearing aid batteries. Will see if I can snitch one off my 95 yo MIL Christmas Eve.

Good Morning Guys,
Ct, 28 to start going to 38 ! It never made it to 40 yesterday, I reported going to 42 so shame on me ! 😁

Had nightmares that I pinched the tube yesterday during tube install on the WheelHorse ! When I went out for the paper this morning, I just had to go to the shed to check the tire ! 😂 Nightmares were unfounded, tire is still. Hard ! I will check the pressure later !

Bill, yes I know 10 years is a lot of procrastination, it was just too easy to air up the tire every time before mowing ! 😂

I'm thinking 4 would be enough, but like they say subject to change with out notice. :)

Good man Thomas, think of it as making sure they are good enough
For your fellow employees! 😂

Work tomorrow, so need to get a few things done ! My neighbors across the street asked me to smoke 3 racks of ribs for them on Christmas Eve ! So I need to do some shopping for that today !

Hope all have a blessed and safe day ! 🙏

Good Morning
30° with a high of 40 and a sunny day today.

Yesterday was running errands fixing a few things, cleaning up and trying get my mom’s estate across the finish line. Looks like it will make it by the end of the year, I sold off stocks so that I would be able to make the distributions once all the beneficiaries (her grand children) sign off. Should be a good Christmas for them.

Scott, one of my errands was to get more pork belly to smoke, the last batch was very well received, everyone wanted an encore. So I’ve got about 25lbs in the fridge to get rubbed and smoked over the weekend.

Today I’ve got a load of baked goods to distribute, won’t get them all done today, but hopefully I’ll get a good start. This afternoon we’re off to take grandson to Giggleberry fair and then to dinner with his parents, so I won’t have a full day to deliver breads. After dinner I’m going to try to meet up with a group of friends that have gotten together the Thursday before Christmas for the last 50+ years. The group keeps getting smaller, so I would like to make it if I can.

Morning all, 29 going up to 43 and I see the sun

BEF - that is so frustrating about the mail. They go for checks here, so I wait until later in the day or go into PO to mail things. Have had some packages mysteriously disappear too. Any to get money back? At least complain to the OIG. Hope you feel better soon.

50+ years PopG , that sounds like fun.

Might have an old friend coming out tomorrow or Sat with the wife for lunch, will need to make reservations anywhere around here. It's a long drive for them, so who knows.

Have tickets for Sat night light show at Shadybrook farms and reservations afterwards for dinner. I don't go out to eat much anymore.

Might be the last year for ShadyBrook drive through light show, as they just sold another big chunk of land to developers.

Sons friends here later for a sleepover in the apartment and band practice.

Still waiting for the green zip ties to finish light ball.

Be well,

I'll probably send a check now. My nephew is going to file a theft report to USPS. I don't know yet if my other nephew had their card opened also, that will tell if it happened at my end or their end. but could have been mid way there, who knows. He said the envelope was cut clean, not like it ripped and they fell out.
I told my wife, no more gift cards.

I used to have one of those ties... somewhere maybe...

50º this AM going to 66 and cloudy. Got 1/10th of an inch of rain last night, 4/10ths forecasted for tonight.
We need more rain, just not all at once again please Lord.
Need to order some filters for a SS service this winter. Put a new grab handle on it yesterday.
Have a great day !

Good morning! Low of 34°, heading for 45°. Sunny. Then it all goes downhill...... Rain, snow, mix.... starting tomorrow night. The forecast now shows it continuing into Monday. ---- Chances are getting better for a white Christmas!

Actually got a few sprinkles yesterday, only a trace in the gauge, seemed like more..... That's ok, it just 'primed' the moisture levels for this weekend.

Didn't get out to the shop at all yesterday. Went to the store for a restock of wifey's ingredients. Mission accomplished and baking completed--- disaster averted! Then I assumed the role of clean up coordinator.

I'm running out of time to complete the last plaque, so shop time is a must today. I only need a couple hours....

Dennis, that's a shame about the cards. Hopefully something can be done about them going missing.

Drew, be careful "snatching" a battery from your MIL....
Didn't you ever see those little old ladies beating up on a mugger? ---- you might be risking your life!

Scott, you made me laugh about the tractor tire.... I had a WH 14 automatic that had a slow leak in the left front, also for about 10 years..... but, I just gave the tractor away to a neighbor instead of fixing the flat.... (didn't give it away because of the tire though). Miss that old iron!

Everyone have a great day!

65°F and 3.2 inches rain. Been a real soggy day and forecast for today is more of the same.

I did take advantage of the inside time for some office cleanup. That will continue today. I was able to locate my “put in a safe place” Pilot key fob. That’s an almost $500 find. Now have an AirTag type device attached.

UPS delivered my replacement chair from Amazon. Got that assembled.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
