Morning all, 54 going to 62 and heavy rain in the forecast.

Wow Helo, that's a lot for your daughter to process. Prayers for her classmates.
She needs to talk, whether with you or a group to get this behind her, slowly, it will take time.

From Friday night,
Wife baked and decorated these.

Good morning! Low of 16°, heading up to 40°, sunny but breezy w/ gusts to 30 mph.

Helo, sorry that your daughter had to witness such a tragic event. Definitely try to get her to speak about it.

Drew, good that you got the cover on. Looks like you had the right team!

RNG, sounds like the new homestead is coming together slow but sure! Hopefully things continue to "fit".

Didn't get out to the shop at all yesterday except to fill the bird feeders. Cold, wind.... just lost the motivation.
BUT, not all was lost.... I stepped into the quality control position (followed by cleanup committee) for the wifey who was making homemade pierogies for the holidays!
An all day affair, she made 5 dozen.

Going to try again today, but first all the Christmas deco is coming out.... we are way behind decorating. Usually gets done the weekend after Thanksgiving. Not going to put out everything this year, just the 'special' things.

Hopefully I'll stumble across my motivation some along the way.....

Everyone have a great day!

Kil, how was the Dailey and Vincent performance? Really like those guys, and of course, Rhonda, too. Your town gets some great shows.
The show was excellent! Christmas music, of course, with the D&V flavor. New drummer and lead guitarist in the band.
one of the deciding factors for picking our new location when we moved out of Nj was the SMCPA, since we were so accustomed to just hopping the PATH train into NYC. But we can afford to go to so many more shows because the price differential is INSANE!!!!!

70°F and .31 inches rain.

Actually slept in an extra 10 minutes this morning. Up late playing cards with our visitors from Arkansas. I won šŸ¤™

Yesterday was long and busy as expected. So glad to get home.

Honda Dealer followed up on my battery. After very careful reread of the warranty I understand. Although not specifically called out, the original battery is under the basic 3 year, 36k mile warranty. Of course no place in the 40 page booklet is this said. The 100 month warranty applies only to a replacement battery bought from the dealer has a whole page devoted to it. Personally I find it a bit off putting that so much resource is devoted to a future purchase rather than the one already made. I’d guess most who make a quick read make the same assumption as I. Basically this comment of fact that Dealership has clarifier this issue previously with Honda America. Oh well.

A watch football, laid back day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

57deg. .52" of rain so far, has been pretty light overall. still more on the radar.
The battery & case for my game camera is nice, so ordered a 2nd one. The 2 newest game cams don't have an external power jack, don't know how I missed that. But I have 2 stealth cams that do, and the new battery case is made by them. I'm hoping the power jack is same size as the cell cam, as that is what I want it for.
The 2nd cell cam I put up at the farm, I'm using the 100 free pics a month plan so far, and that ran out in 1 week. Guess I'll have to pony up some cash to get more pics.
I've been reading book about the railroad that ran past our farm in the late 1800's until 1931 (mom rode it). One entry about boys playing on freight cars on a siding, let the brake off, the cars rolled downhill, and the boys jumped off, one got ran over and both legs cut off and he died. Wonder what was going thru the other boys heads after something like that. Lots of accidents on the railroads back then, some really nasty.

with storm and high winds coming, figured a little belt and suspenders on cover would be smart, so I added some extra
tie down ropes to the plastic latches they provide. Up front is an issue, too much loose cover over the hood area, I might add another line there.

reminds me of tying up my boat for a hurricane, did that a lot of times.
What about some cargo netting over the loose cover? I've used a Haul-Master 72 in. x 96 in. Full Size Pickup Cargo Net for covering a large portion of tarp to prevent it from flexing all day in the wind.
/edit of course that was a few years ago and only cost ~ $10 from HF, don't know what they are now. link to net

I wonder whatever happened to the Matel VacuuForm I played with as a kid? Between that and the Creepy Crawler machine, it's a wonder I didn't burn off all my finger prints...

You and I must have grown up together in different places, a lot of the same experiences.

And we both (at least I do) have all my fingers and toes. I have broken a few bones along the way, though.

good point. The "education" I had making black powder fuses was priceless. The ceiling did not look too good.
Good Evening Frits,
Brings me back to a Thanksgiving get together with the family many years ago ! I was probably about 12, and I was able to go down town to the local feed and grain store ! I would get a pound of potassium nitrate. I used that to make smoke bombs etc ! Well while in the Basement I somehow ignited my concoction in my mortar and pestle ! I smoked the whole family out of the house, and as I recall those 60 years ago, my father was not too happy !! šŸ˜‚ I was always getting into some type of mischief!! Some how I still have all my fingers ! šŸ˜‚

Hope all have a good evening !
