Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 20 going up to 37 and the sun is still in the trees.
Replaced the doorbell on detached garage/apt, easy with it now an LED.

Met my new boss, who is now not going to be my boss as I change groups in January.
She thought I was english at first since i have accents from everywhere I live and spend so much of my day on the phone with people in UK and eastern Europe. Surprised how many words I adopted from different places. Wish I knew more languages though.
I read some of the non-english comments and laugh as I do know quite a few curse words in other languages :)

Growing up between NY and MA left me with some strange pronunciations.

Tried to take pic of moon last night, on phone, without much luck.

Glad you got back ok Drew and Mostly

Be well

I’ve had good success with setting up new access points being mindful to keep the SSID and password the same as the old one, the vast majority of the IOT connects without intervention that way.
Can I pick your brain for a minute?

We have StarLink, I have the correct Ethernet adapter for it.

if I don’t particularly care about how many different networks I am broadcasting…

and since I have several old DSL routers that still have functioning WiFi capability…

can I run a hub or switch to the StarLink Ethernet port, then hook up the WiFi routers to the hub/switch, and increase my WiFi coverage around my property by mounting one on each exterior wall? Devices should switch networks reasonably seamlessly as long as they are all configured in each device, right?

Or is my proposed attempt at doing things on the cheap by recycling kludge doomed to fail?

After much research on your topic I opted for another Starlink router and linked it to the original router. Not sure if they will work outdoors but .....

You can. Some routers can be set to be an access point instead of a router , which keeps you on the same network. The problem with using them all as routers is each must be a different network.
I really like my deco mesh system. So far I have 3 units, they figure it all out, very easy to set up, one network everywhere.

Hassle.

You might not care about broadcasting but your end user devices (storage, PC, tabs, phones, printers) may.

Old tech, maybe mixture of protocols (speeds, throughput, channel limits, etc.)...

I'd go with a newer mesh system. Need some more coverage, go buy another unit and plug it in.

Good Morning ~ 39º going to 60º Brrr - :)
Seared and baked a pork loin wrapped in bacon last night, yummy.
Pork and eggs are the menu for breakfast ~
Been flatten out the neighbors field after the county Weed Abatement crew rutted it up real bad. Plan on doing about 1 hr at the end of the day until done. Stupid short days now makes it hard to get too much done. Hope everybody is well.

I don’t really care if I have different networks - I a, going for cheap 🤣😂🤣 and recycling items already on my shelves (because I don’t throw stuff away. . .).

I ran mine that way for a good while, but got tired of messing with it. I also had trouble with the Starlink mesh unit. But it was the lack of functions in the Starlink router, like not being able to reserve static ip range, that made me put it in bypass mode and get the mesh.

So it is doable, but a PITA.

"Had some people comment on black kid not speaking "black""

What I think is really amazing is people who can switch back and forth. I have heard British people who speak both english and american. I guess some people just have an ear for languages.

sounds like David needs to batten down the hatches, a Kona storm coming to Hawaii

31F sunny with light wind. Radio weather is warning of snow showers.
I went to look at a John Deere X595. I liked it and it was used enough that I could afford it but I didn't buy it. Good thing cause when I got home my wife and I had a conference. No X595. On top of that she thinks I should start cleaning out the barn. I'm not looking forward to that. I had hoped to put it off for several years.
Sounds like it may warm up tomorrow. My body isn't ready to work outside today.

Happy Wednesday,

Chris

very doable, but you just have multiple networks to maintain. If you have a favorite router you prefer, just put starlink in bypass and use your own router after it. It's what I'm now doing but with mesh system.

Problem is the networks won't hand off that well.
I have one network in house and one in separate garage. Sometimes when I get home and park near garage, my phone get stuck on garage WiFI and does not move to house WiFI, so gets really slow since it is so far away.

^^ that too. You usually have to manually move to the other network that you want. Now that I have the mesh, won't go back.

Good morning! Low of 18°, but heading up to 48°. Today will be the warmest of the week. Snow again tomorrow morning. Other forecast models have snow 3 days through Sunday......

picked up the new storm door yesterday to get installed today.... hopefully I won't have any issues. That was a quick $300+ out of the wallet..... At least I can use the old storm door on the 'hobby shack' door. That should help with the flies getting in during the summer.

Wifey got the first of 2 orders from Temu.... the items were actually better than she was expecting. One of my orders has shipped, but won't get here until next week. Hopefully I'll have the same reaction to the quality of goods.
David, you are correct.... very addicting site..... I placed another order last night for another $55 .....

My cardiologist office called and they had a cancellation.... appointment is now scheduled for this Friday instead on in January. I'm happy about that, not that I have any issues except for having to get monthly "approval" to get prescriptions filled.

Time to get my butt in gear and moving towards the shop...

Everyone have a great day!

69°F and 1.6 inches rain

An intown morning. Sophie has 2 Dr appointments. Also need safety inspection for her Pilot.
That should get us about time for early lunch then a trip to brewery for a refill.

This rain is forecast for the day. That could affect what I do or don’t do this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Up to 33°
Rode bike some this morning
I cancelled my oral surgery for next week. I’m going to see how long I can go before another tooth infection. I’ve had no issues since the last infection a month or 2 ago.
