The rental knee machine was delivered yesterday. Insurance does not cover it, but it was highly recommended by the surgeon. It keeps the knee flexible after surgery. I will keep it for 3 weeks until I start out-patient rehab.
I loved that machine when I had my knee done. Constant motion was the only way I could sleep for the first few nights! Pain was bad if I let it stiffen up.
Afternoon all!
Beautiful sunny day at 62 degrees,
Got the pile of manure spread and roto tilled in the garden. From there we washed and dried the wife's car. Break for lunch and I am now just getting back from fixing the shower at the apartment house. Small leak. Emergency visit to the eye doc tomorrow. Went to clean my glasses and the frame broke in half. Luckily I keep 2 pairs back in reserve!
Think I'll ride the recliner for the rest of the day! I'm beat!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

My right knee has been suddenly giving out on me. Started a week or so ago when I was working on the electric trench. Today at costco it did it once. I haven't gone down yet but have come close.

Hair cut today then a costco run. Nice day out. Got trailer unhooked from truck. Tomorrow another trip for another train ride in VA.

My 28 year old furnace (has a Becket burner on it) has never seen anything but off road diesel. It is thinner than the over the road diesel. Less wax in it and as a result will not gel as early as OTR diesel. The filter for it is inside the house, this may help.
Not in the NorthEast US, #2 fuel is #2 fuel doesn't matter if it is dyed for off road use or not.
Home fuel oil and diesel are the same ultra low sulfur fuel.

I just paid 3.99 for fuel oil, down from 4.69 the year before
spot price is about 3.80 though there are cheaper prices around.
You have to usually take 500 gallons to get that best price and I can't do that.
at least they took my credit card without squawking and that saved me 2 percent.
That's 8 cents a gallon less for the home team so my net is 3.91 a gallon.
that's a lot of money for heat. Wish I could use wood.

another school board meeting tonight, thankfully short and by zoom. Starting the budget process and having to determine how much to increase salaries and tuition.
stock market and world in general not creating positive feelings.
but we all know inflation is very real.
and unlike our federal government, we have to show a small positive balance at end of year.

Good Evening Lou,
The only difference when I load at the terminal is the amount of BIO in the fuel oil. I load 5% BIO, you can also load 10% BIO, but this is what I normally load. And of course on road diesel is clear.

Possibly, but not always. Ultra low Sulphur Diesel has a lubricity additive that heating oil doesn’t. In rural areas, where they serve off road diesel and heating oil customers from the same truck, they will have the additive added when they load. I always add it to be safe.

It is not as important for older engines, but modern common rail injection needs it. As I understand it, the process of removing the sulphur also reduces the lubricity of the oil. It is the process, not the lack of sulphur that’s the issue.

Good (Friday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.7C and it's presently 27.3C (way above the predicted 22C, and it's not yet noon). Light cloud cover with a gentle breeze.

Rain with a moderate 'flood warning' alert in place for tomorrow & Sunday. Hmmm... a least my tanks will be full to overflowing.

I was able to video-chat with my Aunt (Burlington, Ontario) + a pleasant surprise "Whatsap" call with my friend in Washington, DC. Her Daughter, my GodDaughter, is really looking forward to her first Halloween.

A very productive meeting last evening and home by 2130.

Not much 'on the card' for today. That's about it, take care all.
