good morning all
64 in Georgetown DE in "abundant sunshine"
wish it was yesterday but oh well, should be nice drive today over
the big tunnel/bridge going into VA.

no reason to rush this morning since I can't get in until 1pm at next stop. Headed here next:

am grateful there is any wifi here at all. ran speedtest 8/1, not fast but works. Many places advertise and you find out you have to take a laptop near the office. Some places their wifi is better than my portable hot spot, and when in doubt, I always try to connect to campground.
out here in the middle of this big field at one end of campground, pleased this works.

I'm reading that some rv'ers have found a better setup than Starlink.
I need to research this before next year.

Rip, you have your hands full. Looks like job security to me.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

51.8F going to mid-70s, sunny all day.

Errands in town went well yesterday, the town was putting up the scarecrows, and our “Angel of the Morning” scarecrow was given a very good spot, right on a crosswalk and fire hydrant — so no vehicles can park in front of it and block the view.

it isn’t the “Grand Prize“ spot at the gazebo in Town Square (like ours was at last year) but we knew it wouldn’t be a candidate for that spot, because it would be set in a “photo op” setup with hay bales fashioned into a seating area with various pumpkins and gourds — and it should be a scarecrow that is a bit more “lively” than ours portrays 🤣😂🤣

Our other “quickie” scarecrow (the one that we barely stuffed and is wearing skinny jeans size small) ended up in front of the local diner, because he obviously is anorexic and needs a milkshake:

more errands in town today, but once the sun comes up I will run the last of the sourwood logs on the splitter for stacking later in the day. I need to figure out storage for all the small split pieces, maybe i need to build some sort of rack by the sauna (I still have to do another EMT rack on the other side of the sauna like I did for the kindling, but I have more wood than will fit).

Maybe a dog walk up at the woodlot later, too.

Mrs. on the splitter:

I hope everyone has a happy healthy safe blessed day!

Good morning! 73˚F a bit warmer than yesterday, South wind, cloudless sky, mid 90s today, Fall has left the building.

On the way to the Estate house I noticed a large pipeline being laid. It is a waterline to our county that we are buying from Lee County, the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer thanks Kyle for sharing your water with the hundreds of thousands new Texans from California. I sure wish California would be nicer to it's residence so they would not look to Texas as a sanctuary state. Last week my neighbor wanted to move to a nicer house and offered full price for the house and had to raise his offer above asking price but still got out bided by 50K from "some people from California".

Another desk day of jumping through hoops in the probate process. I will be an expert when this is over. I can see why they allow 4 years for probate to finish, but I'm on warp speed and want to be mostly finished before my knee surgery.

Drew did they find the cause of the RV fire and was anyone in there when it started?

good morning, 57 going to 74 today

Going to pick up groceries this morning

Mostly, not really smiling or happy about neighbor hitting the rocks. It is sad that this new neighbor feels like he is entitled to take a skid loader and load it it up with rocks and dump it over the fence. I don't think he expected that we had the equipment to put it back into his property. The grass grew up around it and when he finally wanted to mow he got surprised

The bidding wars in my area are pretty impressive. The one to two million dollar range seems to be where it is at.

Gentlemen and woman, insert favorite younger person type slang here, looking for large house and large acreage.

And they ain't from California. There is still a lot of money floating about....

I have some neighbors, well they are a mile down the road, that are at odds with each other. I hear all sides of the stories. Amazed at some peoples behavior. One person wanted to remove some overhead power lines between houses at no coast to either....turned into a war zone. Another cannot figure out their dogs should not be chasing livestock...another seems to have issues with property lines...

Leave no trace and be nice I say. Respect people and their property.

I've similar neighbors in Vermont.
Guy moved in across the road. His lot is nearly vertical except for a small plot for the house.
He wanted me to clear my fence line because of the trees blocking his view.

Not one of the trees were within 100 yards of his house.

Amazing isn't it. WTH are they thinking?

In some parts of my area we actually have VISUAL conservation easements.

66F going to the mid 70s. Feels like Fall. Quite a few leaves down which is normal for September.
If the dew dries I'm going to mow the lawn. They say September is the time to plant grass because of all of the dew. We are eating Edamame(edible soybeans), Lettuce and Spinach from the garden.

I think real estate is weird right now. For a while it seemed like second hand houses were a deal compared to building new. It amazes me how long it is taking the economy to settle down if it ever does.

About the views. Aren't there places that raise your taxes if you have a good view?

Take care.

Chris

It's not the view that raises you taxes it view that make the land more valuable and taxes are based on appraised value. When I lived in a high rise in Houston condos the side of the building that had the view of the park sold for $20,000 to $50,000 more than my side which faced the VA hospital. Also the higher floors sold for more than the lower floors because of the view.

69°F and .68 inches rain.

Good visit with friend in hospital. Fall attributed to low blood pressure. Trying to place her in a rehab facility for a week or so to get some PT. In very good spirits.

Happy Hour also a success.

Likely piddle about with small things today before starting next round of mowing.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

safe and sound in Virginia Beach. 4 hour drive, ok until I hit congestion on VA side of the bridge. Whole lot of folks (Navy) live around here.

very nice campground and the wifi works. yeah
and I have a water view which I'm off to take pics of.
Well not quite yet.
I have a hour plus job ahead of me washing the rv, which is gross after three hours on interstate in heavy rain. And when I got gas today, nozzle leaked gas down side of rv, that was annoying.
good thing I brought some wax...

did not get a chance to ask about the burned rv, would love to know if problem was electric or propane.
perhaps someone left the proverbial iron on....

out into the sunshine I go, scrub a dub dub

Wasted a perfectly good morning with paperwork. The good news is my colonoscopy a couple months ago got rebilled to insurance and they covered it. I had gotten a bill for $2600 as out of network. Glad that’s settled.
Dentist later.
Weboost will not fix or replace my LTE amplifier. They did offer 15% off a new one. At $500 I don’t think I’ll go for another one, especially since WiFi calling works well.

washing the rv sure gave my arms a workout and walking down this beach and back gave everything else some exercise.
this is one of the prettiest places I have ever stayed at , a true Chesapeake rv resort. The soft sand beach is marvelous.
I took my good camera with the long lens and tried to get some pics too.
now it's conserve what energy I have left, not much.

one pic of the water shows what I call diamonds on the water, the sparkle you get from the sun.
and at night, you have moonbeams on the water

78 and low humidity, just marvelous outside.
time for a nap
