Well, it's not a guitar yet, but the body is the right color now.

It's a weird-looking design by a guy named Steve Klein, who designed it to be ergonomically friendlier than standard electric guitars.
Here's what it looked like when I laid everything together in a mock-up to make sure everything fits.

Here's a pic (from the internet) of what it will look like when finished ... except dark gray, and without the Klein signature logo.

Still a lot of work left to do. The body still needs clear coat. The back of the neck needs stain and finish. I need to make sure the neck is completely straight, then level and re-crown the frets. I'm going to change out the head piece hardware at the top of the neck for a better designed aftermarket part, so I'll need to make sure it fits right (the part that came with the kit will be challenging-at-best to use). Then, wire the electronics and assemble everything.
While I've wanted one of these guitars for a long time - since the early '90s - this build is actually a step towards an even bigger project ... a double neck version of this guitar. If I really like it as much as I suspect I will, I want to build a double neck version with a 12-string on top and 6-string on bottom, similar to this (also an internet picture):

I'm having some difficulty sourcing the 12-string headless hardware, but I'm determined to make this happen. If I can, it would replace just about every electric guitar currently in my studio (4 of the 5 could go away).
Be careful about getting me started talking about musical instruments. It's almost as bad a talking about guns. Either subject can get me prattling on for hours on end.
