Sadly, our neighbor lady friend's son, the one with bone cancer that had his femur removed, passed today. Woman was over there last night around 23:00 helping out as he was in distress. She's over there right now comforting Peggy.

Horrible situation ... :(
Sorry for the loss and sad times...special thoughts prayers.

Don’t really have a special favorite coffee
Normally we have 10% Kona blend local brand but will treat ourselves from time to time with 100% Kona or even better something more local. Probably the best was when my friend Wyler was growing and roasting his own. We do have a neighbor also growing and his roasting has greatly improved, even wining a cupping contest last year

Our current machine is a Ninja. 2 size baskets or K cups. Brew strength selectable. Much better than last Keurig. 2-3 cups in morning for me.

Coffee is brewing. 51° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 71° with cloudy skies. Went to the Frozen Custer place and had some very good treats. Move some firewood for neighbor so they can have a Bonfire nest weekend. Then relaxed rest of the day. Window washing day. All 43 window in the house. At least no ladder is required to get at them.

Foggy and 67 going to 86.

Sodamo, I like the story behind the Hog Heaven Coffee name. I rarely buy Hawaii green coffee beans due to the high price, but think it is one of the best/smoothest drinking coffees. Lucky you, fresh Hawaii coffee and macadamias, and a snow covered mountain with lava!

We got more showers yesterday, all total half an inch. Was still able to get some seat time: tilled 3 food plots and planted oats, wheat, winter peas, turnips, chicory, radish, triticale, and clover.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

62.8F going to mid 80e, Partly/Mostly sunny day.

Project at mom’s went well, 30 dolls photographed after doing repairs she couldn’t do. Another 20-odd to go.

last week I saw a special on Cold Steel 3/4 axes on Teh Interwebz and ordered three, one for each vehicle. Spent about a half-hour scraping the factory varnish off the handles, so I can coat the, with linseed oil.

Scarecrow project went well, we did a hunorous one (we brought our own materials for that one 😎) and then there was still time and event-supplied materials so we banged out a basic simple one, too

finished off the day with The Goonies but didn’t see the last ten minutes, Mrs went out with the dogs and spotted two satellites, so we went out and skywatcher for the next hour. Several more satellites and some meteors. Better than TV.

i grew up with the Twin Towers. For several months after, looking east from my porch felt like when you put on someone else’s glasses…

I hope everyone has a contemplative healthy, safe blessed day.

good morning all
cooler day, likely some showers tonight
1.5 inches of rain in last few days, everything is very green again.

Kirkland decaf with Folgers black silk mixed in for 1st pot.
that sounds good, flavor without the jitters

great pic and nice scarecrows Kilroy. My late wife loved to make them for our garden. I'll find the pic somewhere.

off to primary doc this morning to see PA to get scrips for PT on left knee and right foot.
I'll see if they have any deals on spare parts while I'm there...

then lunch at an old friends, about as old as she can get considering she held me when I was a baby.
She's an artist, mostly pottery, and I always tour her shop when there, small area in her barn.

September 11. Bad guys sure ruined that day forever for all of us.
Sorry for anyone who has a birthday today.
My sister's birthday is always one I'll remember. Nov 22.
Day JFK was killed.

I've shown this before, but on the maiden first day voyage of my first boat, a used 33' Carver I bought in Mamaroneck NY, came down the East River
in NYC and then right under the Statue of Liberty took this pic.
It still gives me shivers.
I had never owned a boat before, not even a canoe.
I was up on the flybridge looking out.
My childhood friend who has the home in Florida I go visit was on my swim platform.
I learned to love the water out on his boat.

two days after this picture, the boat caught fire off Brigantine Shoals outside Atlantic City.
story for another day...

off to starboardd would have been the Caven Point Military Pier. Caught a lot of bluefish and crabs off that pier.

what a view
Statue of Liberty right there
my grandfather came through Ellis Island in 1901. Somewhere his name is written down there.
that whole area gives me goosebumps.

the words on the Statue of Liberty always move me

looking up at it on my boat was something special. Wish I had taken a pic, was foggy and I was too worried
about local commercial traffic. Those NYC ferries are very fast.

The pier was 4999 feet long — dumb@$$3$ started a campfire that traveled underneath and collapsed part of it—- just before where our favorite fishing spot was.

several years later, some other dumb@$$3$ burned it about 100 yards from the shore, rendering it useless. It was later demolished. Oh well 🤬🙁

best place for Independence Day fireworks.

It is 40F LOWER than our highs have been in the last couple of weeks!...

So excuse me for needing a jacket in 69F weather. jk.

22 years ago. Never forget. enforce the border.

52 years ago, hurricane Carla hit Texas, went over my hometown of Victoria, I was 1yo. my brothers went outside during the eye passing over. eerily calm they said it was.

Congrats on the lower temp.

I remember as a kid in Virginia Beach going outside when the eye of a hurricane passed over. It really is strange.
