Morning all, 86 going up to 90, and sunny.
Went out early to trim by the road.

About 2/3 through, OnTrac shows up with a big van and the Mini Split, husband and wife team sub-contractors, nice people, drop off, tractor and forks over to where it is going and now to get the wall mount measured and have the kid help me lift into place.

6 days late, but it's here and looks undamaged.

I survived the King of Prussia Mall, I need the t-shirt

Well, back to work.

Only a few hundred feet to go:

Trip up to woodlot went well, Mrs. Is really getting the hang of the splitter.

And I a, getting comfortable with the excavator as a am closing in on 50 hours of seat time — I and clomping into spots confidently that, just a few weeks ago, would be terrifying! I had to traverse a steep mushy wet spot today and I made a mattress of cleared underbrush and graded some soil to make the ascent shallower, moving the soil onto the mattress and getting an extra 50 feet up the hillside before I noticed a minor problem…

IMG_0506.jpeg

so I headed back to the barn, and Mrs was pretty much done for the day, and we got back home before the real heat of the day kicked in.

Now I need to dig out a piece of 1/4-20 rod and four nuts to replace the missing hairpin. And I think i will spray paint the end of that pin fluorescent green or something . . .
Definitely something more visible than black!!!!!

SPA LEAK UPDATE:

as per suggestion of service tech, I removed about 10” of the side of the tub near where they most common leaks occur. The very bottom of the insulation is damp, which is not surprising, but all around that area is dry. Thin yesterday I filled the tub up to cover the op jets..l no leak yet.

we are going to use it later, and the I will top it up to normal high fill and see what happens. I figger I have about 8 more weeks before I have to worry about stuffing insulation back In To prevent freeze damage. I have tracing dye if it starts leaking again, so I can localize the leak as I remove more insulation, but right now it isn’t leaking… yay?

That hairpin for the X is expensive. I replaced mine with a bolt and two nuts. Working around trees and branches something will grab it and it is gone never to found again

Good Morning!!!! 68F @ 8:45AM. Sunny. High 87F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Stack one pair on top of the other with the tweeters in the middle. (Top one upside down)
Should I do that, how would the speakers be wired? Serial or parallel?

Oops, actually have four pairs of the Advents, and another pair of similar size speakers. Don't remember the name of 'em, but another guy at work kept trying to get me to sell them to him. Never did, and never got around to hooking them up, either.

Got three more trailer tires changed yesterday, but still have to balance and mount the fourth one. I pulled the brake drums and there seems to be plenty of brake lining left, and no tell tale leaks from bad seals, so I just repacked them and put them back together. Still have one of those left to do, too. Mr. Back was talkin' to me pretty clearly that it was time to knock off, it was dinner time, and the sky to the east was really dark and I could see rain falling from the clouds. Radar confirmed a large cell headed my way, but it never made it. Nice rainbow, though.

Hope none of you are having to work on Labor Day...

Buppies, prayers for you and your wife.

Prayers for LS and M7040 knees and joints, and Drew's neck/spine.

My son's achilles are much better, with ibuprofen he can stand on his toes, but he says it is painful.

He's doing homework today, since he has procrastinated doing it. Doing a full write up on Treasure Island.

I love lima beans. For years, it was about the only "green" food I would eat.

Took the lawn mower for a walk this afternoon, starting in the front yard. Got stung again in the same area where I got stung a couple weeks ago. Never was sure what got me last time, but it was quite evident today; I'd stirred up a bunch of ground hornets, and they were not happy with me. Got me a couple more times before I got away to the driveway, where another one got me on the inner bicep. Decided to call it a day, and went inside to assess the damage. While standing in the kitchen, another one that had ridden in under my shirt got me on the belly. Five in all (both legs, both arms, and belly), but could have been worse, I guess. Man, do those little boogers hurt.
Sorry to hear about. I keep liquid benedryl handy for stings. Also baking soda and white vinegar mixed for topical application
Took me off of metformin caused the rise
Hope they can get the sugar levels and such figured out.

Wow! You're soaking it in!
We have 2.3" for the year!
We were wet until late May. Then nothing since except for almost 100 days over 100 degrees.

Good Afternoon Guys,

Highly under rated speakers. The only issue with them is that the foam surround for the woofers deteriorates, but replacements are available and it’s not a big job. I’ve done lots of them.

Here's one for our bassists.

Successful day! Shrub is transplanted. Old hole filled in and packed. Marked out the perimeter for the addition and the new deck.

Temps weren't too bad, 86° and a stiff breeze helped.

Still need to beat the rebar out of the timbers and separate the 2 logs.... have 3 pairs of the 8' logs to separate. I have to find my brass drift......haven't seen it in years.... I think I put it "in a safe place for later"....

Then, watered everything in the greenhouse. All doing good, now they will have to survive the winter in there.

Wifey made a tuna fish sandwich w/ salad and cottage cheese. I finished up the 2 leftover breakfast burritos. A bowl if IC is on the menu for later.

Grandsons came over and played a game of scrabble with grandma.... first time they played. One liked it, the other not so much.....but he's only in second grade....he did ok for himself. Of course, grandpop helped him with a few.

Drew any update on your hot tub leak?
haven't gotten to it yet, not in a huge rush due to hot weather outside.
maybe this week..........................

had to leave the party a little early tonight, barking dogs, splitting headache, sore neck, time to go
not much traffic on road, a nice surprise
my oldest friend's 74th birthday, got him a nice leather dopp bag for traveling.
was 95 outside, thankfully we spent most of time inside in a/c

going to be an early night tonight

Happy Labor Day.
Only got to 95.2° and did not break yesterday’s high.
Had a good picnic at church, lots of good food. Wasn’t too bad sitting in shade with a breeze blowing most of time. I took large fan to keep the guy grilling cooled off. I took my black stone griddle in case we needed it, but 2 gas grilles was sufficient.
Just got everything put away.

Did get the new IP camera up and working on back of house. I see the date is totally wrong.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 8.6C and it's presently 18.4C (truly yo-yoing 'Spring temps'). Yesterday's High got up to 21C although the 'official' aerodrome High was 16C. It's fairly clear & calm and there was 1mm of rain in the gauge.

Yesterday's fence line walk went well; a few hidden downed branches discovered & cleared, 9 star-picket plastic caps replaced (UV ray damaged) and a bunch of staples hammered in to support fencing wire on the wooden corner posts.

Today's task is to catch Penelope the Pussybeast, just after 1400, IOT take her to the Vet's for her annual shot... wish me luck on her cooperation.:)

That's about it, take care all.

Another very good day mowing, probably got about an hour left to finish the area.
Possibly could have done so after Zoom Happy Hour, but the Hot tub and fresh drawn Porter won out.

I did have the wondering thought. What is
F I had one of those triple or quad gang mowers, could I finish in a fraction of the time? Probably not given my terrain. Oh well.
