Was 70° when we did our morning walk. Only did one lap 1.1 miles in 22 minutes.
Saw doe and her 2 fawns in back field this morning. Haven’t seen a deer around house in awhile.
Walking we saw foe and fawn, then later doe with 2 fawns. Fawns still got some spots, but spots about gone.
Sitting on porch in front of fan.

if power off in night, why run generator?

Morning all, 71 going up to 80 and partly cloudy.
Got patches cut and ready to go up where ceiling had to be cut for pipe repairs a few months ago.
Have people showing up for new boiler quotes.

Anyone want an old HS Tarn wood/oil burner ? Will be sad to see it go.

Power out at 2am, back at 3am, wonder what broke. Wonder if same issue as over at Drew's since same time? That would be a lot more than 900 houses.

Time to order mini-split? Could use a second job right about now.

Be well,
If you were closer I would grab it!

I have old oil burner in basement that still worked when I stopped using it over 10 yrs ago. On my list of things to get rid of.

honestly no need, perfect temps outside and now that I have a battery backed sump pump, I was able to turn over
and wait an hour. Then I went out to make sure new tank I installed worked, it did of course, and because I made the effort
to turn it on, power was restored fairly promptly. All normal.

I need to call in outage to PECO, best done by logging in to their site, they know I'm their customer and immediately acknowledged the outage
and gave me estimated fix time. Which they beat by an hour. But to do so without starting gen requires a laptop and portable hotspot.
Which I have, for the rv. Wide area outages seem to get fixed pretty quickly, perhaps they can reroute power.
It's the local stuff of trees constantly taking down power lines that often goes 8 hours. So many dead ash trees, this is real job security
for generator folks.

my computer UPS kept my PC running but screen would not light. I must have it plugged in the wrong place, one without the other isn't much help.

Good morning! Low of 57°, heading towards 82°. Heavy cloud cover, humidity at 82%. 50/50 shot at some t-storms. We were on the wrong side of the chances for rain again yesterday..... Don got more than we did.

Rain chances evaporate by Wednesday, and the temps back up into the 90's. Our grass is super crunchy like Kyle's, just no dirt cracks.....

Didn't get much done yesterday, just finished the transplanting, then consolidated the materials list making 2 portions, the framing / shell list, then the "finish" stage list. Going to shoot for picking up the first batch on Wednesday.
Just need to see when the son will be available to go with me.

We are monitoring 3 tree transplants we did along the driveway a few months ago. All six were doing great, then one really started struggling..... then a few weeks later, on on each side of the first, started struggling too...... I wonder if there's something in the soil in that area? The other 3 trees are doing great.

Not much else going on. (For now).....
Maybe need to wash the car or something to promote some rain.....

Everyone have a great day!

LS, was thinking about your knee issues and the diagnosis. Was wondering if you have looked into nerve block treatment that has helped some people by blocking the pain to the brain?

Good morning barely, 76 going to 79no rain

Pretty easy day no firm plans. Lots deers around the house and out beyond. Chestnuts will be coming down soon near the house and that always gets the deer up close because they absolutely love the chestnuts. We can usually be within a few feet of them.

Scott, love your Ford A. Looks good. Many out there and I am sure many aftermarket parts available to keep them going or upgrade. Remember one time I had to back up the hill because low on gas getting more of the gas out of the tank going uphill backwards

Yes, that was one of the "treatments" that were experimented. They tried a temporary' nerve block. Lasted for about 4-6 hours, so the insurance wouldn't cover the full procedure. They wanted it to last at least 16-24 hours.

Even tried acupuncture .... On the third session, the acupuncture caused 6cm swelling in circumference within 10 minutes. The doc said "no more treatments--- it's making it worse".....

The doc that diagnosed the CRPS said the only treatment is to keep range of motion and activity as close to normal as possible, and swimming/ aquatic exercise may help. In other words..... not really any official treatment.....

69F and sunny @ 11:30, heading up to around 74F for the day’s high.

Power went out earlier before we got up, still out. Estimated restoration is by 13:30 today.

Apparently it’s only us, looks like a squirrel may have suicided itself on our transformer and popped the breaker.

Woman ran down to Dunkin for coffee …

She just headed out to continue weeding the northwest planting bed which She started on a few days ago.

She wanted to “work together” on something yesterday so we gave the peach tree on the east side some loving.

She weeded around it while I cut a 12.5’ section of 4’ tall chicken wire to make a 4’ diameter cage to go around it.

Once She had it weeded I worked in some fertilizer and did some pruning to open up the interior.

Then I went and got 2 bags of mulch and placed that around the base.

After that we got the cage put over it and 4 rebar stakes driven in and the cage wired to the stakes.

It appears to be doing very well (even with a little nipping from the deer)

It’s now taller than I am - probably 6’ 6” or so - so it’s grown around 2’ this year.

Hopefully get some peaches from it next year.

Also got 2 bags of mulch put around the recently transplanted day lilies.

Got the large Swamp Milkweed in the flower bed which was falling over staked and tied up. Found another plant which appears to have self-seeded from the main plant.

Main plant has lots of seed pods this year, will try and harvest those so we can raise some from seeds.

And discovered a Monarch caterpillar which had attached itself to one of those Rubbermaid single-step stools that was sitting by the Milkweed. It’s going into its chrysalis stage … so another 10 - 14 days before it hatches out.

Got fertilizer order placed with Menards last night, is ready for pick up now.

Not sure what all on agenda for today.

Need to finish up mowing front and whatever else needs done.

Bird feeders need refilled.

Looks like wind is low so could some spraying.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday …
