Back from mowing at the lot.
Met 2 more neighbors.
IMG_0175.JPG

I had just mowed the back corner, was down towards the septic area and saw this buck up where I had just mowed. It ran before I could get pic with my phone, but the cell camera got him.
IMG_0173.JPG

Trimmed the branches around the camera and turned it some. I waved as I left.
My wife went, and she trimmed a lot of low branches with the fisker loppers as I mowed. Those are nice, a good Costco buy.
IMG_0170.JPG

I did not use my battery saw nor laser level that I took.
When we got home my wife discovered the gallon jug of bar oil had fallen over in the truck, lid came off, jug about empty. I thought it was in a place it couldn’t fall. It fell towards door, don’t know where the jug lid is. Maybe it fell over getting stuff out of truck at the lot. Most of oil drained out bottom of the door, only the carpet at bottom of door got soaked. Truck has oil soaked under right side of bed.

Good evening all. 74ºF for the start, overcast with rain showers, and light breeze. Light wind but brisk gusts, short rain showers in morning, temp fell to 71ºF, the sky cleared late morning, and high temp was 92ºF, HI 104ºF. Typical Texas heat returning to our neck of the woods, only 2 days below 100ºF in 10 day forecast. Delayed bike ride till roads dried some, then after lunch mowed front yard. Area getting spetic drainage needs mowing more often. No nap, finshed mowing at 4:30PM.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 61° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 76° with rain showers in afternoon. Got .1" of rain with a thunderstorm yesterday evening. RV friend left my place late because we were telling our stories. I made a couple more roof rafters yesterday. Then rested rest of the day. Did some Prime Day shopping. But did not find any deals that I bought. Will work on chicken coop some more today.

good morning Mr Bumblebee.
and everyone else...

65 out now going up to 92, but at least house is at 74. Will keep a/c on fairly low and see if temps maintained.
Will look for drips or freezing indication this morning

this morning I wash the rv, sure needs it. Will fire up the soap gun and give it a hosing.
I tried the slide, definitely unhappy, almost did not come in. Will make appt at place in Souderton that works on rvs.
Swintek slide mechanism, some folks replace whole gear system with one called Zoom.
This could be something as simple as a set screw that holds the motor in place coming loose, allowing it to torque around and get
gearing out of track. Not a good design, built for simplicity but has a real weak point. Twin separate motors about 8 feet up in air, challenging to work on.
Have watched a dozen youtube videos on this. I think I should put Popgadget on retainer...

need to shower and shave and get a haircut today at lunchtime. Going to wash rv first after breakfast while it's cooler out.

Good Morning!!!! 72F @ 4:15AM. Abundant sunshine. Hot. High 99F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
High 90s and into the 100s for the rest of the 10-day. Summer is here with a vengeance.

Thanks for taking us along with you on your trip, Drew. Glad the MH got you home safe, and it was fun seeing you with some of the other inmates here!

Nice of you to help out your neighbors, Thomas, and nice of them not to expect a free ride on the work you did.

Like you, Ron, I came up empty handed from my Prime Day shopping. Most of what I saw seemed to be cast offs and left overs that nobody wanted to buy.

Saw a listing for a home in the Lompoc area with a three car garage, a large bonus room, and a covered patio that could be walled in for more garage like space. It's priced higher than I'd like, but what isn't these days. I'll get a zoom tour tomorrow, and if that goes well, will make an offer. But my real estate agent has another client that is also interested, and wonder if he'll try to play us against each other.

Speaking of Lompoc, my friend down there goes in for cataract surgery today. Keeping fingers crossed for a favorable outcome on that one.

Also pulled some covers off on the van to get a feel for how involved upgrading the stereo system might be. What's there now makes noise, but I would hardly call it quality audio. More like a 60s era transistor radio. Talked with a Crutchfield tech, who said I'd have to hack the speaker wire bundle coming out of the head unit, which sounds a bit drastic. Would also like to use the amplifiers and subwoofer I bought but never installed on the VW, but that's also complicated. Also couldn't figure out a way to get wires into the doors from the van interior, which might involve drilling and removing even more panels. I was hoping to just plug'n'play, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I did get the float reattached to the shut off valve on the small water tank, but the water level in the tank is still too high to re-do the adjustment properly. Need to take more showers to get the water level down some more I guess.

Once it gets light out I'll jump on the side-by-side and spray out the weeds that have cropped up ove rthe past several weeks. Not sure what else the day will bring.

Happy Hump Day, folks!
