Daughter is living off tips at an evening steakhouse type restaurant at the moment. She changed recently to the same franchise restaurant in another city because it is in a more affluent area. The tips more than doubled.
She will clear between 100 dollars on a slow day to more than 300 dollars
an evening and she can have as many shifts as she wants. The tips seems to be very dependent on the area.

Buckeye, the “farm” does not re-tie the tomato plant as it grows. These ingenious little rings go up the string as the plant grows, keeping the tomatoes off the ground.

Yes, I discovered tomato clips and bought some, only I’ll clip them to my cattle panel trellis.

going to call Gulfstream customer service tomorrow and find out if they sell a rattle can with this taupe color.

or I could just put a band aid on this spot...
Might be a good place for a bumper sticker. Trump or Biden? Which will it be?

Just a joke!

Food prices has skyrocketed. I have tendency to tip lower now to compensate. My “salary” is now fixed.
If a server does an excellent job, I have no problem leaving at least 20%, but I’ve found most servers these days are mediocre at best and have no clue how to properly wait tables.

“If I don’t get at least 20%, I struggle to pay my bills,” says Kathleen Caspersen, a server at Bull City Ciderworks in Greensboro, North Carolina, who says that the ever-rising cost of living is ripping her budget to ribbons. “The right amount is 20% to 30%.”

The expectation for decent service, it seems, has risen from 15% to 20%, with 18% as the bare minimum. “If you can’t afford to tip 18% on your bill, you can’t afford to go out,” says Paul Kushner, a pub owner and bartender who has worked in restaurants for 25 years.
Private Pilots and Crew: 20% to 30%
Cleaners: 20%
Hair Stylists, Barbers and Aestheticians: 25%

So when did huge tips become the expected tip.
I still tip depending upon the service I get. Good service I'll tip the 20%, less then good less tip.
If the waitress can't get by and see how everything is going and have a good atitude and prompt service with a smile,
why in the heck would I tip.
To me a tip is still thanks for doing more then the minimum required.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 2C and it's presently 13.1C, mostly overcast and calm.

So far it's been an 'inside, domestic chores' kind of day. We'll see what else happens as the day progresses.

That's about it, take care all.

But your rings on the cattle panel can only slide upwards with the plant a few inches before you have to reposition the rings to the next upwards square. If you had a string or something without cross members the plant could grow and the ring could just slide up without adding or repositioning the ring.

Cup of coffee is cooling. 46° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 81° with partly cloudy skies. Windows are now clean. Got E-Track installed on trailer. Lotos up and down to get them installed. I was tried by the time I called it a day. Found that a pin has fallen out of JD mower deck while moving it to make room for tailer in barn. Non available at dealers. Will make one today. Sassy needs to go in to Vet for her shots and license update today. That will determine how much I get done today.
Had to take a picture to see if I get better pictures with clean windows. Sun was very bright.

Interesting to note that although prices of food has increased there is little to no recognition that such increase results in increased tip. In the past, I would add 20% of the total rounded up to next full $. That meant the tip included 20% increase due to tax. Now I’m taking my calculator and tipping on the base total.
Seems to be a rash of tip shaming lately. Many based on these tables and suggestions that get published.
Recently, I begun to reevaluate the cost of something special at the market versus cost of that item at a restaurant. Wife has been very encouraging to get it and eat at home. Still nice to go out, but restraint maybe increasing.

Tip - 20%
Tax - 4.72%
CC - 3%

So, printed menu price isn’t even close to reality.
