Good Morning!!!! 55F @ 5:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High near 80F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Hmph. In one day we've gone from winter to summer.
Nothing like having the right tools for the job, eh Frits?
Yesterday I didn't get the memo about warmer temps, and went out with a long sleeve t-shirt and lined blue jeans to move the lumber from the flying porch cover to a more permanent location. Over heated badly lugging the junk up the steep hillside, and had to come inside to cool off and get something to eat. When I came out, the side-by-side conked out, felt like fuel starvation, so I added more. Didn't help. Finished up the job with the tractor and grapple, and will look into the fuel filter today. I have fuel filters on hand, just not the right one.
Got most of the patio cleaned off yesterday, but still a few more things to deal with. The little shack that holds the air compressor and rotary phase converter will eventually have to move, but that'll mean the lathe and mill will be off line until it's put back. A neighbor needs some lathe work to fix a broken auger, so I'm putting that off as long as possible.
Not sure when the contractor will get here. Got a text yesterday from him saying the crew had a few things to finish up on another job, and will be coming by with a work trailer and materials after that.
Only one new listing yesterday, added very late in the evening, so I guess most all the realtors took Easter off.
It was a shame to lose that house, as it was the first place with enough space and in good enough condition to really be move in ready. The neighborhood has an HOA, but I guess not a strong enough one to keep out the gang activity. If that's even what it was. Could it have been a divorce situation, with the husband left holding the bag for the house and not being able to find another place to live, trying to scare off buyers with help from his buddy/neighbor?
Started a couple new notes yesterday on the car. One listing all the features/options and their acronyms. The darn thing has its own language, which includes the pictographs emblazoned on the controls and buttons. Then another with tips on how things work, mostly for the infotainment system, but also for the radar cruise control and voice activation systems. No wonder cars cost what they do today. Can you even get one with roll up windows and no radio? Or even a stick shift?
Hope everyone gets off to a great start this week!
