Happy Perihelion today.

60 going to 69, rain later.

BEF, I think you forgot to do something yesterday - retire! 😁

After a lot of company over the holidays, we finally had the house to ourselves yesterday...spent too much of the day just watching Jack Ryan.

57 outside this AM, heading just under 70 today. Yesterday we got to 70, it was really nice.

Company came and went over the weekend. All wanted to see the SO who is doing well.

Managed to get the Milk House electrical done. Then the SO decided on more lights and more outlets. So I have to dig into one wall that is already finished inside and out, and another wall that I can just take the exterior off to run the outlets. Should have checked with her on a final layout, but things were in the way. LOL. The good news is I roughed in wire to get to the back forty. There is a run-in in the back that could use some power for lights, heaters and what not. Just need to rent a ditch witch, but that is for another time. I'll be finishing up on the inside these next few weeks, mini-split going in and one wall that I just cannot fish a line through for some odd reason. Cut an access hole and a few test holes were drilled and I cannot find any openings from the attic. Worst case scenario is I bust out all the concrete on the other side of the wall and run the wires horizontally feeding off a socket that is already hot. Numerous friends could not figure it out, we agreed it must be a worm hole of some sort. Very odd. We all measured for length and squareness of the wall in relationship to the attic access. The joys of working on really old homes and buildings. LOL.

Hope all are having a good start to the New Year. Be safe.

Good Morning!

God has given us another chance to get it right (or at least not screw up too badly).

57.3 and thunderstorms/heavy rain since 3am. Our poor dog is a nervous wreck, and since we are back to work she is in the house alone and when we get home she is all Doggie Depression (pupper is a two-time Rescue).

Work is work, yay.

gotta try to catch up on all the GOOD MORNING posts! This work thing really puts a cramp on my TBN communing 🤣😂

allegedly our StarLink is arriving today - gotta for to BigBoxHomeImprovement and get a length of Unistrut for mounting it.

I hope everyone has a productive, safe, happy, blessed day!

I’ve had the Makita 18v cordless for many years, the corded ones haven’t come off the shelf since I got it.
I got one of the last Metal-Case corded Sawzalls, and one of the first Plastic-Case corded Right-Angle Drills.

the plastic cases are nice because they don’t rust and the corners don’t hurt as much, but they do take up more space than the steel cases.

my battery items are Makita leaf blowers and a weed wacker. I don’t mind cords for heavier items. When I finally need to replace my DeWalt battery drills I will switch to Makita for battery commonality. Cordless drills have become indispensable! But I also still use my braces, eggbeater drills, and Yankee Screwdrivers regularly, too.

Lee Valley tool carries adapters for Yankee Screwdrivers to fit modern hex bits —-THAT is a game changer!!!

good morning all, WARMER going to 55 today LOVELY. Ice is gone no more falls

I think I need to order some more battery minders to keep it all charged during winter. Currently have two of them hooked up and using a bigger one to rotate with. Any good suggestions?

Today is a good day to get outside and check over the property more closely after the cold spells

Sorry if this has been mentioned before; I'm way behind again and trying to catch up.

I've been using the Battery Saver model 2365 for some time now, with good results. JBTools.com has had them at the best price I can find. I leave them attached continuously, and they keep the battery charged without over charging them. They also have a "de-sulfation" mode that they say can resurrect a sulfated battery, but i've had mixed results with that. One of them got wet and quit working, and the manufacturer replaced it without question.

Good Morning
It’s 51 and going to top 60 today under cloudy skies with rain likely.

Yesterday was a grey day best spent tidying up in the shop. Spent a fair amount of time chasing Zoe around.it’s funny how much energy she has, and then just turns off like a switch was thrown and takes a nap. Had no luck getting a Dr appointment, but I’m going at 4pm today, which is good as I’m supposed to do trips to FL on Friday and Saturday.

This morning I’m going to meet a solar contractor to review sites for a 5mw farm on another of our airports.

I have had incredible luck with the Makita LXT batteries, the very first one that I got over 10 years ago is still serviceable. They were originally 3ah, later ones were 4 and 5, and now 6ah. The majority of mine are 5ah. I’ve got 15 of them and rotate their usage, but the majority of my power tool use is cordless by far.

Morning all, 48 going up to 65 (!) and foggy.
Fog was so thick last night that flashlight reflected back.
Which reminds me, why do people put on the brights on in the fog? They like to blind themselves with the reflected light?

Got the three foam panels attached to the garage wall, only a few panels left and then tape and seal.

Mostly - sorry GD got laid off, hope she finds some new work soon.
Riptides - glad to hear she is doing well

My sons Polk bookshelf speaker lost a driver. Email back/forth with Polk on troubleshooting.
Yesterday a brand new set of speakers shows up. Good customer service does still exist.

I have had good luck with Milwaukee and Makita battery tools.
I have 10-12 year old M12 still going strong and my original 9.6v Makita batteries lasted over 10 years. I still have the Makita 9.6v drill and small saw as backups with non-Oem batteries. They just work.
No issues with M18 so far.
Only let down is my Milwaukee wired hammer drill, the chuck loosens up a lot drilling cement block.

Tried to take a picture of the fog this morning, but was too foggy

For my big work project, boss quit, many contractors gone, so what happens now is anyone's guess.

Be well,
